Keep in mind that this is not a Dutch speaking community and that its an English one.

And keep in mind, the original english language, the original place of the english language, has NOT ever had that word as a Racial slur.
the word "Spook" in the english language, is todo with a ghost/scare. and that dates to a very long time ago, which is still it's definition today, AND even in the English dictionary is listed with that, NOT a definition, that simulated from america.

If we're taking that argument wouldn't that make a vast majority of very common racial slurs allowed then?

The N word was never in the original english language and had a racially offensive definition formed over a time I believe.

Am I wrong though? No sense quoting me on that part unless I was wrong. Also, I'll say it again for the other replies I got, the word is pretty much only used here as a racially offensive word. I don't recall ever hearing the word used in the sense you're trying to say it is where I'm from ever in my life actually. I'll also say again I didn't even know it meant ghost until just recently just as you didn't know the racially offensive definition of it until recently.

If you didn't know the definition of such a common word you might need to retake your literacy exam

Because we have a Community Team and Community Managers for a reason. If we let every community dispute be handled by the Community, almost certainly some ridiculous things would happen due to it.

This case is different, the community is telling you that they are not offended by my name, maybe listen to what they are trying to say before lots of people lose respect for yourself and other seniors.

Not everything should be voted upon by the community itself, of course not. However in this case, it should be because there is a huge majority arguing that it's okay meanwhile there's a small minority saying that it isn't and from the arguments that we have backed it up with, there isn't anything wrong with the name itself.

You know, you could just easily resolve this by just allowing him to have the name because he doesn't mean it in a racial way at all, nor does anyone else see it in that way. I think this is a bit ridiculous now.
