[ALL] Hacking Policy Change 7 years 4 months ago #561721

Server Name:
All ZARP servers

Suggestion Title:
Changing the punishment that are given to people who are caught hacking.

How would it benefit the server:
Cheaters are commonly found in ZARP and massively disrupt game play to those who play the game legit. As a cheater gets caught by a super administrator+, we have to approach them giving the evidence of them using cheats (often caught by the anticheat feature) and let them admit to their wrong doings which then means they know how they exactly got caught and will be able to know how they could get away with it next time. Alot of players also exploit this policy by hacking for months, gaining massive advantage over others and making loads of money knowing that if they get caught they are given another chance or have the ability to appeal their ban and get it accepted in 1-2 months. If this is changed so once a cheater gets caught, there is no chances to be given in-game unless they appeal their ban after the ban is placed without a chance given in-game and apologize for their actions and disruptive behavior they have caused.

Potential Issues/Exploits:

This would be a great addition to the policy, considering people hack for a LONG time and only get a KICK? WHAT?

EDIT : Your poll is broken

Morgan brought this up once and we discussed this and I approached Tyler with it. He said he would bring it up in the CM Team Meeting but he might've forgotten.

The main reason behind my support is that, as Morgan said, there is no reason to give them a chance in-game once caught, as there is an appeal system placed for a reason. I do believe however that the approach is good as it is.

The policy is fine people make mistakes it doesn't define them as a person. Many great people in this community have been caught hacking in the past including both the community managers. They may never have been CM in this case.

People make mistakes and thats why they are given the right to appeal.

But if there's an appeal system in place why do they receive a chance in game? They're being given more than a chance, which is not fair for the rest of the players. If they get kicked they are more likely to join back later on with their hacks.

The hacking policy as is ensures that people get punished if they are hacking they don't get let off. They get 1 chance and they only get said chance if they openly admit to hacking. The percentage of hackers on the server is low and not as many as most of you guys think.

How can someone admit to cheating when they are caught red handed? Not only that but we also have to present the evidence of THEM cheating so they can see exacly how we caught them.

They're kinda forced to admit to it if they're caught with proof aren't they though?

Can I ask you guys a question. Are you aware of what the hacking policy actually states?

(If you are lead team please don't answer)

For how low these percentages are, once you start hacking you know you have the ability to face a permanent ban. (Almost) all games do this, take the VAC ban for example.
Cheating in games is never and should never be allowed. Even installing them alone should be bannable not to mention using them.

And as mentioned before, us having to SHOW the proof to the people has saved so many hackers from actually being banned. Like sure, they still get kicked for it but they've done something that any other system would just permban. And not give them the chance to appeal for it. The fact that we let people appeal these bans already shows how forgiving we are in this IMO worst possible offence in multiplayer games..

Once you start using hacks on any server in any game and you get caught, you deserve a permban. Nothing else.
Note : Except for the right to appeal the ban

Even if they are not fully aware of it they still know that you are given 1 more chance if caught.

Isn't it something like if you admit to hacking and openly admit to changing you have one more chance to turn off the hacks and play without them, but if caught again you get permanently banned?
