TOPIC: Why SSRP?

Hey All,

Bit of a question here, I'm currently seeing a lack of players for SSRP and i want to ask the community on a personal level why you think this is happening, I want to try and find this out to try and help SSRP get back onto the rankings and having fun on the server once again, Were already aware that we are losing more players then new players are joining, We have one point currently is that New Players are not clicking on ZARP SSRP on the darkrp browser, 2nd, When new players do join the server there is a lack of things for them to do, as you need money on SSRP to make money, We understand that they could base but with all the new starter items they get they can still be raided very easily. Please reply with your thoughts with regards to the lack of current/new players joining SSRP, i would like some strong minded answers, I don't just wish to have simple replies with "Get Players or X person made X rule lost all the players" etc

I would also like to mention that this is not coming from the SSRP Lead-Team or the Community Team, this post is coming from myself and myself only.

I personally don't join because I see no one playing.

Personally have 0 motivation to play, when you log on there's nothing to be doing than just master swording around or using a hoverboard. No point in printing as its boring since there is no gang wars or players to get raided by. Majority of the player base they use to play consistently cheated making people leave and made it un-playable. Many old players have grown up and moved on, really unsure about new players not joining. Mainly ZARP isn't advertised anywhere at all. Many popular streamers and youtubers and paid to join the top 10 servers bringing new players etc. In my personal opinion I believe they should start working on the previous map that was originally meant to come out @emp

The community doesn't get listened to.

It's been like this for a few years. Some of us remember when the SSRP Staff team had over 70+ members at some points. Personally, I lost interest because of a reasons: I don't play Garry's Mod anymore, the gameplay of the server has remained the same, and namely because people don't want to get on a server if they think it's dying.

I feel SSRP has suffered from the same issues Call of Duty has in a sense that for a while they just went from boots on the ground, to jetpacks, to crazy futuristic stuff and it just became a mess. I don't really like the insane amount of items on the server anymore, there's too much bloat.

As for people not wanting to get on a server with not many players, this is an issue ALL games suffer from. It's a bad loop to get caught in and there's not many ways to get out of it.

One of the many reasons ZARP was getting a large influx of players in the past was because a popular youtuber came on and played the server (albeit, trolling) but still. Advertisement like that is huge these days for having a popular product or service. If a streamer isn't playing it, or youtubers aren't talking about it and making videos it's just not going to gain much traction.

i dont join because theres nobody else on, i wanna keep playing and progressing but i cant if its pretty much a singleplayer RP

There was/are a lot of reasons why the zarp servers are kind of all lacking the players atm. Some reasons are people simply grew up, Got jobs and don't play anymore. Other reasons are things like the content. Lets be real Zarp hasn't really had any content added in years (im not counting these cases as content, The simply are not.) The biggest one was the map update, Before that there hasn't been anything. Yes the map update was amazing but not when there was such a lack in players.

On top of this the server is ran by a single group of people. And has been for a while. Back in the day you had things like FA and BIB fighting each other with Azgeda jumping in. or OI and Broccoli. Now you have nothing. On top of that there is certain people in high power on the server that people simply just do not like.

Here are some reasons:

We did not asked for new map, we asked for rockford or evo map (Personally, this map is meeh);
The content is the same as it used to be, all that has happened is just suits keep on adding on and that's it;
Getting special cases you can get only by donating on events, which is lame. 5$ for a case;
Lack of updates, they only happen on holidays (summer,xmas,halloween etc)

For myself there is a multidude of reasons;

I joined the server a few weeks back and can tell you that the futuristic crap does not help. The server was fun between the block map (I can't remember the name) - maybe like 2017 when there was a few special weapons but not crazy amounts, a thundergun and a few VSS with nitro glycerine would be enough to raid a base. I think the economy is also just horribly balanced it can be quite daunting as a new player with no VIP being unable to make much more than 100k an hour. Cases seemed to make the server a bit unbalanced as it made it easy for players like montana to gain mass amount of items for 1mil. I also find the fact that a specific high ranking staff member who seems to be horrible at positevly interacting with the community puts me off a bit.

If zarp fixed these issues and had a player surge I'd probably give zarp another try tbh.

tl;dr simplicity = best

And as a bonus I've grown out of garry's mod a bit, sitting in a base for hours doesn't seem worthwhile anymore.
