Have you considered more actively doing double EXP / extra cash / items updates more frequently, to try and draw players back and to stick around ❔

Lucky. wrote:
When will the casino prices change? because for now it's a scam

Changes to prices in the casino for cashing out tokens into items is something that has been discussed and is planned, alongside the addition of some more items to the casino, however it's also important to note that these prices will never be exactly the same (if we're to consider the "price" of the items as the value of the chips if you were to cash them out directly) for a range of reasons:

ZARP SSRP operates on a dynamic, player-driven economy in which the "prices/value" of items on the server are mostly determined by users themselves and how much they are willing to sell them to other players for. This means that prices may fluctuate in ways which wouldn't be easily predicted, and we can't be changing these prices all the time.

Furthermore, usually purchasing items from other users doesn't increase the amount of an item in the economy, all it does is circulate both money and items. If we were to make the prices directly match what players were selling the items for or what they consider to be the "value" of the item, then this approach would simply not work: players would start to sell the items for less (since why would you buy from players where stock is limited when you could just purchase directly from the server with unlimited stock?) which would drive down the "value" of the item further, and then we'd be back in the same position again.

The price of buying an item directly from the server in a place with unlimited stock (ie. the casino - this doesn't apply in the case of the rare items store due to limited stock and rotating items) will always be slightly higher than the price that you may pay when buying from other users in their shops, since part of what you're paying for is the immediate availability of the item and to add more of it to the economy.

With that being said, we do understand that some of the prices in the casino pay be a little bit outdated and do need refreshing, but I also felt that it would be useful to clarify on how decisions are made just to clear up any confusion and so you know what to expect, hopefully this answers your question!

When are you guys actually going to listen what the community wants? Instead of making up own ideas that turn out to be a failure? (For example the whole new drug lab system)

Would you guys be interested in looking at ZARP Classic again and actually taking on board what the community wants from this? I feel as if it's something that will really help SSRP tremendously if it's done the proper way.

Through the recent introduction of the custom event system on SSRP we've managed to give the lead team the ability to create fun and engaging events and distribute in-game cash and items throughout the player base. Events on Pointshop are a bit more difficult since the gamemodes are a lot more restricting. They usually involve bigger code changes and more work - hence why they are a bit rare. We're going to release more double EXP events on our Pointshop Servers in the near future, so keep an eye out on the forums ;)

The frequency of actual content updates (both on SSRP and Pointshop) heavily depends on the availability of our developers and the scope of the features being added. We're always trying to deliver as much content as possible, but there are unfortunately limits on how much we can do at once!

We're constantly looking into community feedback when deciding what features we want to add both on SSRP and Pointshop. On SSRP we've started to include more community suggestions (especially in terms of balancing) in the last few updates. We also give our staff members the ability to directly suggest changes to SSRP in the weekly staff meetings. When working on the switch to rp_riverden, we involved the lead team quite early and let them test the map with every item imaginable to get a feel for how the community would treat the new map.

Our Pointshop Server Owners are working very closely with their staff teams to figure out what should be changed about their respective servers. For the Pointshop itself, we've recently started to host "Pointshop Meetings" again, which directly give the community more impact on the cosmetics being added in each update.

We naturally have our own ideas and concepts we want to work on ourselves for our various servers, but even those are subject to change if the community doesn't respond well to them. If you have any suggestions yourself, make sure to post a suggestion thread or talk to a member of the Community Team about them! We always try to be as transparent as possible about our decisions to add / change content on our servers.

Since we've already answered this question in the past, I'll just quote our response on this topic from a while ago here:

TheXnator wrote:
ZARP Classic was something that we considered, but if we were to ever do it, it would not be on a "fresh" database, it would just be another ZARP SSRP server with certain items blacklisted for use (any of the newer items and anything else people wanted to be blacklisted). We took this idea to the community and it seemed that people wanted it to be on a fresh database with everything wiped, but that would just lead to people getting bored once the "nostalgia" of it wears off, and it would be a waste of time.

Since people did not like the idea that was put forward for how we would go about this if it were to ever happen, we decided that we would not work on the project.

It's not up for debate whether or not we use a fresh database, and there are a lot of reasons for why this is the case (some of which are quite complex reasons), but it essentially comes down to the fact that, when it has been done before, any kind of "reset" has just killed the server, and any kind of analysis on the idea of having a "ZARP Classic" server with a new database leads to a conclusion that the server would likely die out very quickly (although do note this is a very stripped down explanation).

When will we be seeing the charity event? It's been about 7 and a half months since the original post, and we've not received much of an update.

We are very proud to have been able to give back to some fantastic charities over the course of the last few years and even further back than that. The charity updates will return again and when we have a firm date and plan we will let people know in a proper announcement!

Discussions about disciplinary actions against staff members, lead team members and members of the Community Team are usually handled internally and are kept between the people involved. It's inappropriate and disrespectful to discuss something like this publicly on the forums. If you have any reason to think a staff, lead team, or community team member should be demoted, feel free to contact a higher up or post a demote request on the forums.

I really wish some of these things don't require your whole ass lifetime into the server because there's also no way I'd be getting max level in lawnmowing, disco, etc because it is simply way too time consuming for a garry's mod server to just do the same actions over and over for such little rewards. Making these features more rewarding in terms of value (x2 paychecks, etc are not good enough, you do not make enough money with today's economy to even take that into regard) and quicker progression is something people would find a lot more encouraging and gives off a much better incentive because let's be real, who the fuck really gon grind the shit out of bar tendering only to get a playermodel that does absolutely nothing other than be cosmetic.

My question would be: What would be your thoughts of having more of these clue events a bit more feasible for the rest of the server?
I'm not sure how many people were actively doing the clues after some time but I swear it was only Nafe and Evilstewie that were figuring them out.

I'm not sure how many people were actively doing the clues after some time but I swear it was only Nafe and Evilstewie that were figuring them out.

The Crack the Vault SSRP event included $85billion worth of prizes and a £50 Steam gift card. The difficulty of these events reflect the value of the prizes that are offered to the winner, hence why the Crack the Vault event was so difficult. If we were to do an event like this again, then if the value of the prizes is lower, you can expect easier questions.

All players have equal chance in these types of events to win the prize, as it is solely based on the player's own knowledge and ability to solve clues rather than requiring the members to have existing presence or items and money on the server.

Have you considered the idea of creating a 'rank' in the community, in which particular users are recognised for having actively produced content for the server?

A very basic example being a "Content Creator" role, which would be given to users who go out of their way to promote ZARP and it's servers to a wider audience.

I believe this is potentially a really good method to help recoup some old players, and maybe even some new ones?

These particular users could have their videos or streams posted on the ZARP Discord, or maybe even the forums under the profile of said users.

I suspect this wouldn't be a role you could necessarily apply for, but rather be recognised for?

So that people can't just get these types of roles to promote themselves for other games / communities. This could be a great opportunity to assist aspiring content creators grow, whilst also helping the community.

My questions is aimed at Forum Admins and above; why do those with power (not all, but some) remove Forum posts for no reason? I posted something the other day, on another thread, that got deleted for no reason or warning. This isn't the first time something like this has happened and I just would like to know why posts get removed if they aren't breaking any rules or regulations? :)

Hello koRe Phantom,

Our forum staff team is here to protect users, as well as to ensure a safe environment for those who use our forums - Posts and threads are rarely ever removed for no reason, though it sometimes happens that staff who are managing the forums via phone "fat-finger" someone's comment. Lots of replies get removed on a weekly basis, ranging from those which are intended with causing issues, sparking arguments and drama all the way to the ones containing discriminatory remarks. I believe that whoever removed your post must have had a justifiable reason to do so.

If you believe that your post and/or thread was not breaking our Terms of Use, and was unreasonably removed, you can contact a Global Moderator (or higher) via Discord to gain additional information on the matter, or you can file an e-mail directly to the Community Team using the Contact Us form.

Hello Nafe,

We have not considered such an idea, at least not during my time as Community Manager. Most, if not all of the users who "actively produce content for the server", currently hold Server Owner or Community Team ranks. However though, there is only one rank the Community Team gives to those who separate their time and contribute to the community by creating "content", more precisely, creating, organizing, and hosting events, and that would be the "Event Manager" role (which holds no power apart from access to a single Discord channel).

If we were to create this "Content Creator" role, it would more than likely function the same way as the aforementioned "Event Manager" rank - With little to no actual power, but would serve more as a recognition to those who contribute to ZARP by creating content for the community and would be given to distinguished users only.

To conclude, no, we have not considered such a role, but it's certainly not out of the question that we might think about it sometime in the future.
