Player report: RDM - Chigurh (Edwardigans) 9 years 7 months ago #133090

Name - Chigurh (Edwardigans on steam)
Steam-ID - STEAM_0:1:48907496
Evidence of Steam-ID -
Server - Dark RP server 2
Time and date - 23:14 CET 15/05/2015
Other comments - This player shows no respect for the rules on this server and I think a punishment should be in order to teach him a lesson. This user is also known for rulebreaking in other gmod servers. (Example: www.fearlessrp.net/showthread.php?tid=40212)
Reason - RDM
Story - The user in question RDMd me multiple times. I decided to just wait somewhere and see if he'd come over and RDM me yet again -- He did exactly that. No respect.
Proof - Demo: www.filedropper.com/reportchigurhrdm Also, here's some screenshots: &

He instructed you to put the camera away; he had a gun pointed at you so he is in power, and you should have complied. As prescribed under rule 2.7, you're the one who has done wrong here.
2.7 FearRP - If you are at gunpoint and you weren't holding a gun first (melee weapons aren't classed as guns), you must (within reason) follow their demands.

Therefore the kill is justified.

I strongly disagree. He killed two people one after another.

The user RDM'd me before this twice. I decided he needed to be taught a lesson for his actions so I started recording and took screenshots.

Collecting evidence is outside of character - You cannot kill someone because they are recording/taking photos for an OOC purpose. The thought of that is just madness. It's like killing someone because they have a blue physgun.

The user RDM'd me before this twice.

Evidence.

He killed two people one after another.

The other player that he shot clearly jumped down as he tried to shoot you, it's his own fault; an accident at most. If the other person wants to complain about the kill, bring him over here.

Collecting evidence is outside of character - You cannot kill someone because they are recording/taking photos for an OOC purpose.

There's no provision for that under the rules. You were told to put the camera (which is an in-character entity as far as I'm concerned) away. If you wanted to take evidence, you are not limited as you can use F12.

The thought of that is just madness. It's like killing someone because they have a blue physgun.

Not really, his persona was clearly just dissatisfied with having pictures taken of him.

He did not demand for the camera to be put down. He whispered "you should put the camera away" like any rulebreaker would say. That is not a demand. This is blatant FailRP.

Demands like this should be said with /me or said more clearly "Put the camera away, or I'll kill you"

He didn't keep me at gunpoint, he was wondering around with a gun and just shot me.

Also, you wouldn't keep someone at gunpoint like that open in the public. Hostaging/mugging should be done in an alleyway, not right out in the middle of town.

You want to whip out the generic 'failrp' gig? Sure. I will too.

What person in their right mind walks up to a guy with a fat gun, based on knowledge from a previous life, and takes pictures of him right next to him?
He did not demand for the camera to be put down. He whispered "you should put the camera away" like any rulebreaker would say. That is not a demand. This is blatant FailRP.

The rules do not classify how demands must be worded, but I can certainly classify it as a demand as the definition of the word 'should' includes 'obligation' meaning that they want you to do something; thus it is a demand.
Demands like this should be said with /me or said more clearly "Put the camera away, or I'll kill you"

The /me function is used to depict actions which are otherwise impossible through game mechanics, not to tell people what to do.
He didn't keep me at gunpoint, he was wondering around with a gun and just shot me.

The guy has a gun, you had a camera. He told you to put it away, you chose not to; the rules don't suggest at any point that he has to tell you the same command every time you enter his line of sight for it to be okay for him to shoot you for not complying.
Also, you wouldn't keep someone at gunpoint like that open in the public. Hostaging/mugging should be done in an alleyway, not right out in the middle of town.

It's a DarkRP server. If you really want to stop the vast amount of people who walk around with a phat gun in their hands, then by all means suggest a new rule. He wasn't mugging you or hostaging you, he pointed a gun at you and told you to do something.

What person in their right mind walks in the middle of town, a large public area, with an illegal weapon and "threatens" you to do something?

Please don't be pedantic about it, you know exactly to what I am referencing to. Anyone in the right mind would not classify a whisper like that a "demand."

That's what I thought at first when joining this server. I have since learned otherwise. /me is used on this server to say things like:

/me drop 4k or die

This is FailRP. It goes under the line of hostaging/mugging if he pointed a gun at me and demanded for me to do something or I die. -- Which I don't think he did, I class it as blatant RDM. But even if it was how you imply, it's failrp.

Point I was making was that you can't use that as an excuse on DarkRP, and there is no named FailRP rule here.
Please don't be pedantic about it, you know exactly to what I am referencing to. Anyone in the right mind would not classify a whisper like that a "demand."

As I said, the rules don't state how a demand has to be made. You're the one being pedantic, you're taking it way too seriously fam. It's as simple as: gun + command = do it
That's what I thought at first when joining this server. I have since learned otherwise. /me is used on this server to say things like:

/me drop 4k or die

It is, and wrongly at that - if I still had the power to I would change that. The thing is, the rule doesn't ask you to do a /me - it asks you to give them a demand through any medium (no medium is mentioned, so it's just a communication medium - voice/text chat.)
This is FailRP. It goes under the line of hostaging/mugging if he pointed a gun at me and demanded for me to do something or I die. -- Which I don't think he did, I class it as blatant RDM. But even if it was how you imply, it's failrp.

I challenge you to find me the rule that says you can not 'FailRP' - you won't be able to, because it's not there; that's because it's a waaaay too generic term. 'FailRP' is covered under various rules. He told you to do something shortly with a gun, and you, a terrified and unarmed man, should have cowered in fear.

He didn't use /me but that's not really a bannable offense in my opinion. It was all allowed exept for the fact where he didn't roleplay it by doing */me doesn't want pictures taken of him if you take another he will kill you* or something of that sort. Either way this is denied as not doing /me to make it completely allowed isn't a huge deal and this should of just been dealt with in game.

you always manage to 1 shot us even though you're extremely exposed in the open and you shouldn't really have a chance to kill us. You just make these crazy 1 taps not even Hermione did when he played, and I can tell you he played 18 hours a day at one point.
