People most likely will not believe me, but I did see a real ghost or something of that sort when I was young. I remember it clearly as if this was yesterday. I was five years old or something, and it was Christmas eve. We had been together with the whole family, and therefore we spent the night at my grandma's house. After we all went to bed (in the same room at my grandma's house), I weirdly woke up in the middle of the night. In a room which was pitch black, I could see a ghostly white figure in the top left corner of the room. The "ghost" was definitely NOT a shadow of an object or car lighting passing by. As I've said, the room was pitch black except for that part. It didn't have a distinct human-like face, but more looked like a typical stereotypical ghost. Although I was only 5, I was terrified because the "ghost" was giving a sinister grin and just staring at me. I thought that it would go away when I looked away, but I seemingly couldn't and looked at it again. It was still there. I then remember not having the strength to wake my parents up because of how shocked I was, and I managed to force myself to sleep. I remember the next day VERY vividly too, as I remember receiving blue power ranger winter gloves for my Christmas present.
A rough sketch of the scene:
