I used to sleep in a room where I could barely see through the door, when I was trying to sleep once I saw a tall, slim, black shadow with a hat on run across my living room. I was like 10 years old at the time so I was shitting myself and I shut my door and didn't know what else to do.

I was probably just too tired and was seeing shit but I ended up not sleeping for a while because of it.

When i was in year 7 (so i was like 11-12) my year went on a school trip to France and we stayed at this shitty "chateau" place which was basically a cool house with a bunch of shitty wooden buildings for dumb kids to stay in. We had to stay there for a whole week and by the end of it i was a nervous wreck and i cried like 5 or 6 times. Basically i really hated ghost stories and my mate who was in my room found out about bloody mary and said he was going to summon her and then he shut himself in the bathroom and came out and the only thing he said was "i've signed your death warrant." I was scared shitless and actually prayed to God that she wasn't real later after dinner. When it came time to sleep, i found it pretty hard. The problem was that the chateau was cheap af so lights were actually on a timer and would turn off by themselves after a few minutes so everytime they turned off i ran into the creepy bathroom to turn them back on. I swear i heard singing coming from the bathroom at one point and needless to say i didn't get much sleep. I had 6 more nights of this. Had more interesting occurrences like an ink capsule somehow bursting in the night and covering my leg to hearing someone walking around at night for what seemed like hours. I fully embarrassed myself and acted like a paranoid nutjob in front of everyone and one night there was tapping at the window at like 2am and i tried waking my mate up but he wouldn't get up so i was fully about to die from a heart attack but it was just a teacher coming to yell at me for having the light on. Genuinely the worst experience i've ever had in my life and when i got home i slept like 18 hours as soon as my head hit the pillow.

I once woke up on my sofa after going to bed 2 stories up (my bedroom is at the top of my old house and the living room was at the bottom with steep af stairs in between) and I was like extremely confused and just sat there for 10minutes thinking id been abducted by aliens.
