I would like to share my own personal opinion here. Firstly and perhaps most importantly: this did affect some user's experience on the server. The moment this started happening I got several messages from separate users saying they were getting Mass RDMed by staff. Items were lost for some people as well, and I think the report proves that people really did not have a good time on the server.
However that does not mean that we should now go and lynch EiPUS for this oversight of his. The database was down, he thought nobody would be able to lose anything so he figured it would be fun if everyone would kill one another. There weren't any bad intentions involved on his part, he just wanted himself and everyone else to have a good time. It was a definite mistake of his to have misinterpreted the situation that badly and I don't think anyone should attempt to understate that fact by stating "Oh he's refunding everyone so nobody was affected."
Some people didn't enjoy the shitfest as much as he'd expected and others lost some stuff, but his intentions were right and he stopped RDMing himself the moment he asked me if it was allowed or not.
I personally think it'd be an absolute waste to lose a dedicated and hard-working staff member because of a mistake involving zero malicious intent. Then again I'm not at the meeting tonight so that decision is entirely in the hands of the Head Admins.
I just want to say that thank you for explaining the weight of the situation. However, I disagree that EiPUS should be getting away with only an official. I believe he should be demoted to Admin, as far as my opinion goes; big part of what makes the Lead Team is taking leader positions. Indeed, it wasn't malicious, but it could've been pretty harmful to the server and at the end of the day, if the goal of the most recently accepted head admin is to raise the standards for the whole LT; wouldn't this a perfect opportunity to raise the standards and be less receptive to rule-breaking staff members, regardless of rank?
I also want to add that in your CM application, you were talking about an equal treatment policy; if we want to treat people equally, since OxyFoxy got demoted from admin to mod back then for a minor, non-malicious mistake, why shouldn't EiPUS be demoted from SA to admin for a major, non-malicious mistake that affected the biggest percentage of people on the server?
However, I do not know however how dedicated and hard working EiPUS is, and I've never had any problems with him, but he hasn't helped me a lot either.
