The map and the printers, the very bad printers should be buffed atleast a little, theres almost no point in having them. The map(s). S3 should be switched. It is incredibly unoptimized and nexus is OP. S1's ele needs to be removed or changed, it is way too op atm. S2 is just way too big.

New ways to base, or even buff all printers as at the minute they are pointless to have in the game unless you base with a gang for hours...

ANOTHER thought, I started playing ZARP on ONE server with ONE completely different map (rp_townsend), I then remember server 2 and 1 cropping up, one with downtown and the other with bloc_42. I absolutely HATED rp_downtown, it made me want to blown my own brains out. I was actually the #1 server too gametracker before AFK mining was really a thing, it was still very semi-automatic because of the only thing mining allowing was crafting of the original M9K weapons.

Then I moved onto Evilmelon when Bloc_42 got removed and ever since then I've wanted it back for either S2 or S3, I know you guys are trying your best to get something like this happening but, it would be great to see it happen eventually. It is the perfect map for the playerbase S2 has, the bases are all equally balanced and the streets and districts are all perfect size for the raids ZARP are used to.

Please, just get rid of these large maps. They don't help and are just ugly.

I left a huge suggestion document and put it in the one note when I resigned a while ago. I'd really recommend taking a look at that because he has a lot of great ideas for you Deadmonstor.

One of the biggest problems at the moment is just the retarded unbalanced meta that exists on the server. The difference between the newest player and the richest player is so large that is really can't be made up unless they pay for booster packs on a double booster pack event and sell the cases, or unbox something rare out of them like a suit. There has to be a comprehensive review of each suit, talk to players who PLAY the server, get their opinion on suits, talk to new players and old ones so you get both sides of things. You can't expect a new player to have a chance defending anything like a nuke or base. It's just not doable.

Honestly having a starter kit with items and money that is none tradable sounds good in theory but in practice that could go very wrong. Maybe new players get a 1 mil instead of 100k but again, that could go very wrong. This is all confusing to me because I’m not exactly looking to change the entire atmosphere besides having big gangs with actual skill again but I want new players to feel welcomed and to enjoy the server. Also half the new players I have seen are just scum bags that rdm and scam and they also end every sentence with XD.

What got me into zarp is the custom content..
Every darkrp server that i played i would run around with big bucks and nothing to spend it on.
But when i came to zarp there was so much to spend it on and it was really hard to earn aswell.
Not to mention the updates that we get are insane compared to other servers..

This man speaks the truth, just imagine for a second you lost all your items and money and were on 100k again you try grinding back up and basing while you get cucked by someone in a suit raiding your little fence base and saying get fucked kid. new players don't stand a chance against this and barely have any way of making money VIP printers are shit and need a revamp

Economy Balancing
Economy balancing is a very important change that would bring a lot of players back. Right now a huge problem with zarp is the very simple fact that people have garnered billions, resulting in huge inflation, while there is very little way to get into a mediocre or elite position without being lucky as fuck by coinflipping and shit. A huge viable change to balance out the economy would be as such;
  • Money drains
Money drains such as an ingame casino that takes money and gives back items would be great. E.g. a 3-0.3% drop ratio for (different) suits would result in alot of ingame currency going down the shitter, and such the prices would drop, making everything more affordable. This would benefit the job rework TBhonest put forward, as if you gained e.g. 1m from 1 hour farm as a drug dealer, the currency would have much more, because right now 1m is more or less toilet paper.

Item Balancing
Right now there are very unbalanced and boring items. It's more or less because their abilities are mostly passive, e.g. mummy suit, instead of active abilities (e.g. ACS suit). Aside from perhaps nerfing hp/armor bars, SSRP would greatly benefit from making each suit interactive to play with, and not a passive item you put on to make you invisible. Having suits/items with less raw stats and more interesting and powerful abilities sided with timers and cooldowns would be the most optimal thing to have. It creates a fun environment, and it promotes good, skillful use.

Meta Balancing
Many stock items should be buffed, so that they're used more, and in a larger variety. They shouldn't have raw stats, maybe some items should have more armor penetration, others such as the PSG should be better for headshots, etc. More or less create items that would work together but in different situations. SVG could be used to melt armor and then quickly switch to a PSG in order to finish and 2-tap the enemy jugg.

Rule rework
Staff's powers should be better regulated. Rules should be better articulated, so that they do not allow loopholing (for the most part). The loopholing rule is dumb, and leaves everyone for their own interpretation. Perhaps a ruleset in layman terms and another one explaining each one in detail would be great.

Rewards for creating interesting gameplay scenarios
Users should be rewarded for creating interesting gameplay scenarios. E.g. farming as a drug dealer should be more rewarding since it allows for raiding, etc. Farming with printers should be more rewarding if the user is not far away from the printers themselves, since it would be (obviously) a base, letting people raid them and create exciting gameplay.

Harsher punishments for serious rulebreaks, not a slap on the wrist
Punish harsher for serious convictions. CM bans are hardly a serious conviction by any means, since they're hardly permanent.

Making gangs unable to base together
Adding a minimum distance for printers to be placed from different gangs would be a nice feature, making people mostly unable to base together efficiently.

I think what it boiled down to when I first joined and probably many people was the uniqueness of the game mode and and the massive feature updates. Like the ZARP darkrp gamemode was truly special to gmod back in the day there was nothing like it. The issue now I think is that the gamemode has differed very little to when I first joined yeah there are a tone of new mechanics added to it but nothing major has really changed. I think we need to see a significant change that makes people join the server and think I've never played something as cool as this before. Like chute had a bunch of great and truly unique features prepared for the FP reboot I think its about time we saw on ZARP.

I'll leave my response soon, there is so much to add and my suggestion of fixing the issues up but I don't want to push these changes into the gamemode without hearing your guys opinions first, it's about time we did something about the current meta most importantly and revamp so much old shit that have not been touched in years.

We're listening to you guys, I understand this may be hard to believe due to the past but we really want to make ZARP the best server again by doing all we can possibly do to bring back that experience without bad ideas such as resetting the economy, removing items, etc.

First of all, I would suggest keeping this topic opened as long as you can to discuss it with the LT / Owners and hear from everyone since making an actual change to the server to bring new players is almost impossible at this point.

the main factor that made the server fall down like this, is the lack of communication with the community for example (when the owners/cms decide to add new items during an update they don't give it much thought as it should be, in my opinion, that matter should be discussed with everyone before making the decision since adding items that nobody wants doesn't really make any sense for example the mummy suit which can have up to 1500 hp with x3 the normal damage that suit was unneeded I remember when the jugg suit came out and it had a normal speed so that caused a problem that it was instantly changed to 0.5 the speed so how does the mummy suit compare to it if it has 3 lives and up to 1500hp with a normal speed and x3 damage it is just out of the ordinary, don't get me wrong but suits are fun but I don't think they should have come this far with R&D, instead try to develop new meta's or let the community decide like back in 2015 people would have a bind for SVU and L85 then in 2016 when the psg was buffed it turned into Psg and l85, m24 nowadays I really don't see my self playing the server unless when I see some friends that are willing to use normal weapons to play some pvp in the pd I mean you have no chance agains't someone in anysuit unless his not moving, simply to test this just make an alt and joini zarp with 100k and try to do activities like the server was famous for such as drug dealling / trading / printing / basing, even roleplaying is impossible.

my suggestion for the current state of the server is to remove server 2 and make a new one IDC about the name but just make it a normal roleplaying server with the community's suggestions I promise you it would be a success since s2 atm is for mining only, I only clarified one issue which is fighting meta's but the server had many more that's why this topic is really important to stay open as long as possible. also, bring the old PD or open the floors on this one it is literally so small that you can't even take cover, also i would say Clarky knows better at what could be fixed since he has been here for so long and that's why i voted for him.
