Suggestion Title: Deep Sea Mining (This offers a
new type of currency instead of gems called Minerals.)
How would it benefit the server:
Ok so as we all know everyone has gems (including my self) and every time an event comes around there is either a wheel which is guaranteed prizes. Then there is the slot machine which usually costs less but dosen't always win you a prize. I think we should add a new type of mining called Deep Sea Mining. This will be useful for 'balancing' out the economy (Before you click off because its another economy post hear me out) this will work by having the water in the game useful and can benefit from it rather than it just being there.
This would work by having a different colour Ores (These could be similar to the current Gold, Stone and Ruby Ores) that are placed UNDER THE WATER and potentially 'shoot' above the water. This would give the player mining them the ability to collect and store 'minerals'. The 'minerals' collected will offer almost the same ability that gems offer (except from the craft-ables from the F4 Menu.
However as i was saying at the start the events always consist of you knowing what you will have to collect to use the Event to its fullest. What i am offering is the ability to still use gems (They can always use them to craft items such as the Gluon gun) but when Events occur you will not know what currency will be needed for the Event. This will Mean when the next Event comes out you will not know if 'minerals' or 'Gems'will be used to access the wheel/slot machine. This will cause the prices of both currency's to fluctuate in price (Making it so if someone were to buy 2million gems for $36 each and the Event is using minerals instead they have just lost out on their investment but the gems will be able to be used when the Event next uses Gems making them not non existent) and Users will have to balance out there time obtaining the new currency and the old currency to maximise their ability to use the Event.
This will also have to contain new items and entity's (Obviously) and i can think of a few that would be useful such as a Drill (This is what actual people who deep sea mine use but obviously that don't always have a hand drill i know).
This could have the basic drill (One you can craft so new players can also join in) and a diamond tipped drill (A Blue print to offer a 100% success rate).
The new Ore/s would offer the 'Minerals' that people would use.
Potential Issues/Exploits: People will afk mine for both of them (Gems and minerals) but this will mean that they won't have as many as they will have to balance out how many they have.
People may begin to block off parts of the water like they already do with rubies etc but this can be enforced by placing a rule such as:
"8.7 - No building any closer than 3 bodies away from the Deep Sea Mining entity's"
"8.8 - No areas forcing you to be fully submerged underwater"
Additional notes:
This is not a way to remove the usefulness of the Gem but instead create diversity the way people mine instead of just mining for gems and knowing what they will have to use. This way you will have to obtain both for the user to maximise their potential new items from the Event.
The item model for the drill could be the model 'BioShock 2 Drill SWEP'
The diamond tipped drill could just have a different colour or a whole new model such as
The Mineral rock could look something along the lines of this. With the actual prop model being:

Server 3 Could look like this due to its bigger size.
The Previous images shows what the new possible mineral vendor could look like (The rocks are stepping stones not minerals. And it is kept in the same theme of the rest.) It also shows how the new minerals could look like. The bigger ones shown on server 3 could possibly be more useful (Being able to drop Minerals and possibly more useful materials not yet thought of.)
