Server Name:
SCP-RP
Suggestion Title:
Implementation of a new gamemode: SCP-RP
How would it benefit the server:
Most common Human jobs/roles.
➤ D-Class
Prisoners on death row recruited to work for the Foundation. They are given nothing to start off with and must find items of use to them. They are the target of any Mobile Task Force member and will be KOS (Killed on sight). Their objective is to slip past all the dangers and escape to freedom.
➤ Researchers
Scientists working under the Foundation to study SCPs. They start with a Level 2 Keycard and can team us with Class-Ds to escape together. They will be murdered on sight by any Chaos Insurgency if they happen to come across them, but are always willing to meet the MTF for a free pass to escape.
➤ Citizens
Requires no elaboration apart from the fact that they are unaware of what is going on underground.
➤ Police
They enforce the law, protect the lives, liberty and possessions of citizens, they too are unaware of what's going on underground.
➤ News Reporter
When shit hits the surface, they come in!
➤ Hazmat Unit(s)
Helps researchers with Bio-hazardous SCPs.
➤ Engineers
Usually maintain, fix or make new machines around the facility. This includes the server(s).
➤ Security Officer
Usually employed to maintain the Foundation Facility is proper order. Usually, keep the Class D personnel in order or take extreme action in case of Breaches.
➤ Head of Security
Head of Security is here to regulate the rest of the On-Site Security Officers. They are there to make sure that the members of staff are doing their jobs properly.
➤ Containment Specialist Units
Containment specialists have two main roles at Foundation facilities. Firstly, containment teams are called upon to respond to confirmed cases of anomalous activity to secure and establish initial containment over anomalous objects, entities, or phenomena and transport them to the nearest Foundation containment site.
➤ Field Agent(s)
Long story short: They look for and investigate signs of anomalous activity, usually undercover.
➤ Site Advisor
Site Advisors are the second-highest-ranking personnel at that location and are fully responsible for the continued, safe operation of the sector they are assigned to. They report to the SD (Site Director) at all times.
➤ Site Director
Site directors for major Foundation facilities are the highest-ranking personnel at that location and are responsible for the continued, safe operation of the site and all of its contained anomalies and projects.
➤ O5 Council Member
The O5 Council refers to the committee consisting of the highest-ranking directors of the Foundation. With complete access to all information regarding anomalies in containment, the O5 Council oversees all Foundation operations worldwide and directs its long-term strategic plans.
There are many more jobs/roles/characters, but these were the most common ones that appear in the SCP Containment Breach gamemode.
SCP Objects
Next up, and the most fun, are the SCPs. SCP's are anomalous individuals, entities, locations, objects, and phenomena operating outside the bounds of natural law (referred to as "SCP objects", or colloquially as "SCPs") If left uncontained, the objects would pose a direct threat to human life and to humanity's perceptions of reality and normalcy.
Object Classes - These are the most common SCP Object Classes used in the SCP Containment Breach Gamemode:
Safe
Safe-class SCPs are anomalies that are easily and safely contained. This is often due to the fact that the Foundation has researched the SCP well enough that containment does not require significant resources or that the anomalies require a specific and conscious activation or trigger. Classifying an SCP as Safe, however, does not mean that handling or activating it does not pose a threat.
Euclid
Euclid-class SCPs are anomalies that require more resources to contain completely or where containment isn't always reliable. Usually, this is because the SCP is insufficiently understood or inherently unpredictable. Euclid is the Object Class with the greatest scope, and it's usually a safe bet that an SCP will be this class if it doesn't easily fall into any of the other standard Object Classes.
Keter
Keter-class SCPs are anomalies that are exceedingly difficult to contain consistently or reliably, with containment procedures often being extensive and complex. The Foundation often can't contain these SCPs well due to not having a solid understanding of the anomaly, or lacking the technology to properly contain or counter it. A Keter SCP does not mean the SCP is dangerous, just that it is simply very difficult or costly to contain.
List of SCP Objects
The list of all SCPs is enormous, that's why I made a list of the most common and fun ones used in the SCP-RP Gamemodes, which could be used in the ZARP's version hopefully.
➤ SCP-035
SCP-035, also known as the "Possessive Mask", is an SCP that attempts to manipulate the player into helping it escape during the containment breach.
Description wrote:
SCP-035 appears to be a white porcelain comedy mask, although, at times, it will change to tragedy. Subjects within 1.5 to 2 meters (5-6 feet) of SCP-035, or in visual contact of it, experience a strong urge to put it on. When SCP-035 is placed on the face of an individual, an alternate brain wave pattern from SCP-035 overlaps that of the original host, effectively snuffing it out and causing brain death to the subject. The subject then claims to be the consciousness contained within SCP-035. The bodies of "possessed" subjects decay at a highly accelerated rate, eventually becoming little more than mummified corpses. Nevertheless, SCP-035 has demonstrated the ability to remain in cognitive control of a body experiencing severe structural damage, even if the subject's body literally decays to the point where motion is not mechanically possible. A highly corrosive and degenerative viscous liquid constantly seeps from the eye and mouth holes of SCP-035. Anything coming into contact with this substance slowly decays over a period of time, depending on the material until it has decayed completely into a pool of the original contaminant. Living organisms that come into contact with the substance react much the same way, with no chance of recovery.
➤ SCP-049
SCP-049, is a humanoid SCP that follows the player upon releasing it, and the quintenary antagonist of SCP - Containment Breach. It attempts to "cure" the player, but upon being "cured," the player turns into subject 049-2.
Description wrote:
SCP-049 is a humanoid entity, roughly 1.9 meters in height, which bears the appearance of a medieval plague doctor. While SCP-049 appears to be wearing the thick robes and the ceramic mask indicative of that profession, the garments instead seem to have grown out of SCP-049's body over time1 and are now nearly indistinguishable from whatever form is beneath them. X-rays indicate that despite this, SCP-049 does have a humanoid skeletal structure beneath its outer layer.
➤ SCP-096
SCP-096, also known as "The Shy Guy", "The Tall Man", or "The Crying Man" is a hostile humanoid SCP in SCP - Containment Breach.
Description wrote:
SCP-096 is a humanoid creature measuring approximately 2.38 meters in height. Subject shows very little muscle mass, with a preliminary analysis of body mass suggesting mild malnutrition. Arms are grossly out of proportion with the rest of the subject's body, with an approximate length of 1.5 meters each. Skin is mostly devoid of color, with no sign of any hair.
SCP-096 is normally extremely docile. However, when someone views SCP-096's face, whether it be directly, via video recording, or even a photograph, he will enter a stage of considerable emotional distress. SCP-096 will cover his face with his hands and begin screaming, crying, and babbling incoherently. Approximately one to two minutes after the first viewing, SCP-096 will begin running to the person who viewed his face (who will from this point on be referred to as SCP-096-1).
➤ SCP-173
SCP-173, also known as "The Sculpture" or "Peanut" is the main antagonist of SCP - Containment Breach and the first SCP ever documented by the Foundation.
Description wrote:
SCP-173 is constructed from concrete and rebar with traces of Krylon brand spray paint. SCP-173 is animate and extremely hostile, though the object cannot move while within a direct line of sight. Line of sight must not be broken at any time with SCP-173. Personnel assigned to enter container are instructed to alert one another before blinking. Object is reported to attack by snapping the neck at the base of the skull, or by strangulation. In the event of an attack, personnel are to observe Class 4 hazardous object containment procedures. SCP-173 classification is Euclid, as said before, personnel are to observe Class 4 hazardous object containment procedures.
➤ SCP-1048
SCP-1048, or "Builder Bear", is a keter classed SCP that can be encountered in SCP - Containment Breach.
Description wrote:
SCP-1048 is a small teddy bear, approximately 33 cm in height. The composition of the subject revealed no unusual qualities that make it discernible from a non-sapient teddy bear. The subject regularly shows affection to individuals. Affection is usually given in the form of a hug to the lower leg, and in two separate events, it has even drawn child-like pictures for janitorial staff. All Foundation personnel that have interacted with the subject have responded positively to its affection, even D-class with normally sociopathic tendencies.
➤ SCP-689
SCP-689 is an SCP object known as "Haunter in the Dark" to the Foundation
[IMAGE REDACTED]
Description wrote:
Specifically, it is a small, green soapstone statue. It is completely inert for as long as it is being watched by at least one human being. Normal behaviors such as blinking do not appear to interrupt the "watching" for this purpose, but any lapse in attention, however momentary, renders the observer vulnerable. As soon as SCP-689 is unobserved it vanishes from its current location. Within 15–20 seconds one person who has previously viewed SCP-689 dies instantaneously, SCP-689 reappearing on top of their remains. If no previous viewers are presently alive, it reappears in the same place as previous.
➤ SCP- 999
SCP-999, also known as "The Tickle Monster", is a Safe-class SCP under the SCP Foundation's containment. It is known for its adorable appearance and friendly attitude.
Description wrote:
SCP-999 is described to be a large orange slime. If a person is very close to it, SCP-999 would jump on them, hug them softly, and while they nuzzle into the person's face, it would let out high-pitched gurgling noises and release smells of chocolate, fresh laundry, bacon, roses, and Play-Doh.
➤ SCP-106
SCP-106 is a hostile, Keter-class SCP object, known for his acid effect on all matter he makes contact with. He is of high importance to keep contained due to his hazardous and hostile nature.
Description wrote:
SCP-106 appears to be an elderly humanoid, with a general appearance of advanced decomposition. This appearance may vary, but the “rotting” quality is observed in all forms. SCP-106 is not exceptionally agile and will remain motionless for days at a time, waiting for prey. SCP-106 is also capable of scaling any vertical surface and can remain suspended upside down indefinitely. When attacking, SCP-106 will attempt to incapacitate prey by damaging major organs, muscle groups, or tendons, then pull disabled prey into his pocket dimension. SCP-106 appears to prefer human prey items in the 10-25 years of age bracket.
➤ SCP-294
SCP-294, known as "The Coffee Machine", is a SCP object encountered in SCP-RP.
Description wrote:
SCP-294 is a standard coffee vending machine, the only noticeable difference being an entry touchpad with buttons corresponding to an English QWERTY keyboard.
Upon depositing fifty cents US currency into the coin slot, the user is prompted to enter the name of any liquid using the touchpad. Upon doing so, a standard 12-ounce paper drinking cup is placed and the liquid indicated is poured.
➤ SCP-939
SCP-939, also known as "With Many Voices", are SCPs that imitate human speech similar to a parrot, using the last words or screams of prior victims to lure the player to them and devour them.
Description wrote:
SCP-939 are endothermic, pack-based predator(s) (consisting of 3 instances which 1 is not included in the game) which display atrophy of various systems similar to troglobitic organisms. The skins of SCP-939 are highly permeable to moisture and translucent red in color, owing to a compound chemically similar to hemoglobin. SCP-939 average 100 centimeters tall standing upright and weigh an average of 250 kg, though the weight is highly variable. Each of their four limbs ends in three-fingered claws with a fourth, opposable digit, and are covered in setae which considerably augment climbing ability. Their heads are elongated, devoid of even vestigial eyes or eye sockets, and contain no brain casing. The jaws of SCP-939 are lined with red, faintly luminescent fang-like teeth.
➤ SCP-087
Description wrote:
SCP-087 is an unlit platform staircase. Stairs descend on a 38-degree angle for 13 steps before reaching a semicircular platform of approximately 3 meters in diameter. Descent direction rotates 180 degrees at each platform.
➤ SCP-079
Description wrote:
SCP-079, referred to as the "Old AI", is a sentient microcomputer. It is theorized that it is the cause of the containment breach and is considered the secondary antagonist of SCP - Containment Breach. Somehow, someone allowed SCP-079 to breach its containment and control the entire facility.
➤ SCP-682
SCP-682, also known as "Hard-To-Destroy Reptile," is a violent and hostile SCP... The large, reptile-like creature is described as one of the Foundation's most dangerous SCP objects...
Description wrote:
SCP-682 is a large, vaguely reptile-like creature of unknown origin. He appears to be extremely intelligent and was observed to engage in complex communication with SCP-079 during their limited time of exposure. SCP-682 appears to have a hatred of all life, which has been expressed in several interviews during containment.
Map(s)
After testing multiple maps and editing some in Hammer, It was determined that the map: SCP Site 54 would be the best one to use. The map features long hallways, many containment chambers for various SCP's, a beautiful skybox, maintenance rooms, a huge control room, a server room, also empty and spacious rooms which can easily be removed in Hammer though would be better if we left some for the players to make checkpoints, a small clinic, offices, etc.
Here are some images:
Potential Issues/Exploits:
It'll have many issues just like every server possible has, we just can't know which ones, at least not this much in advance.
Additional notes:
TeamSpeak & Forum Related Stuff
Just like every server in the ZARP community, this server is going to have it's own TeamSpeak staff badges and also it's own unique Staff Templates and Rules too.
I'm going to start off from the TeamSpeak staff badges considering this part will be shorter. So, just like for every ZARP server, this one will have its own unique badges for its own staff member(s). Here are some I tried making on my own.
SCP-RP Moderator -
SCP-RP Administrator -
SCP-RP Super Administrator -
SCP-RP Head Administrator -
SCP-RP Containment Breach Rules
Just like every server, this too would also need to have its own, unique, set of rules. This was personally my idea of how it would look for this server:
1.0 General Conduct Rules
1.1 Discrimination - Discrimination in any form(racism, sexism, prejudicial remarks, xenophobia) is strictly prohibited on our servers.
1.2 Disrespect - We expect all users on the servers to conduct themselves respectfully and politely at all times.
1.3 Spamming - Spamming is not allowed on our servers, do not repeat messages within a short amount of time. This applies to both text and voice chat. Music may only be played by radio managers. Spamming your camera is not allowed.
1.4 Promotion of non-ZARP services - Promotion of competing communities or services is not allowed on our servers.
1.5 Client-Side Modification & Hacking - Any form of hacking, scripting, cheating or malicious client modification is not allowed on our servers.
1.6 Avoiding Punishment - When being addressed by a staff member out of character, do not disconnect without their permission. Do not attempt to evade your punishments by creating new accounts or rejoining the servers.
1.7 Exploiting - Purposely abusing unintentional game or server features is prohibited.
1.8 Sale of In-Game Items - Other than for VIP and Booster Packs the sale or trade of in-game items or currency for items or money outside the server is prohibited. Games gained from steam cases may be traded prior to being redeemed.
1.9 Impersonating Staff - You're not allowed to impersonate any staff members on the servers, this includes using names similar to those used by staff members within the community or saying that you are a member of the staff team when you are not. If you wish to use a name similar to that of a staff member you should first contact a lead team member for permission.
1.10 Voice Modification/Voice Changers - You may not use any sort of voice modification or voice changing device or software.
1.11 - Avatars/Sprays - Emblems/Avatars on steam which may be deemed inappropriate by staff will be punished accordingly. This also applies to sprays in-game, examples of this could be "Porn-sprays" etc.
1.12 Names - Character names may not be vulgar, offensive or blasphemous. They must be visibly different than others'.
2.0 Gamemode Rules
2.1 Random Death Match - In order to kill or harm another human/SCP you require a valid reason to do so. This rule always applies unless another rule calls for an exception.
2.2 New Life Rule - Do not return or interact with the area that you died in within three minutes of dying unless otherwise specified by a different rule.
2.3 Loopholing - Attempting to get around any rules in any way is strictly forbidden, and will result in punishment.
2.4 Prop Abuse - The use of a prop to harm, push or surf is strictly prohibited.
2.4 (A) Spawn - You are not allowed to obstruct spawn areas and areas leading into spawn, this includes but isn't limited to building, placing entities, etc.
2.5 Entity Bombing - You are not allowed to use entities as bombs to damage or destroy other entities or players.
2.6 Door Blocking - Do not spam open / close doors in order to trap people into areas / rooms.
2.7 Text Screens - Text Screens must not have flickering effects, invisible or anything difficult to the eye. Text Screens can not contain anything that is offensive or breaks TOU.
2.8 Camera(s) - You are allowed to place a maximum of 2 cameras. Placing down cameras in SCP-096's CC is strictly prohibited!
2.9 Body Climbing - Using another player to access unreachable areas is strictly prohibited.
2.10 Metagaming - Using OOC or a third-party software to reveal any kind of RP related situations going on is not allowed!
This is an example of how the SCP-RP rules would look like.
Staff Application Template(s)
Moving on to staff application templates. Super Administrator and Head Administrator would be the same so there is no need to display them here. The beginning for both the Moderator and Administrator applications would begin the same just like on all/most of the servers:
Details:
RP Name:
Time Zone:
Link to Steam Profile:
SteamID:
Current Gametracker Profiles:
Server 1 - [Server Link]
Estimated Server Time:
Languages I speak:
The rest would, of course, need to be unique considering this would be a new server!
Moderator Application Template
Explain "Random Death Match" and give an example scenario:
Explain "New Life Rule" and give an example scenario:
Explain how you would handle the following situation:
Player X [Class D] accuses Player Y [Security Officer] for RDM, the logs show player Y killed Player X.
Explain how you would handle the following situation:
Player X places a camera in SCP-096's CC, what action do you take?
Why I should be chosen(we recommend around 100 words):
Administration Application Template
Explain how you feel that your time as a moderator will contribute to you becoming an admin:
Explain a situation where it would be appropriate to use the ban command:
Explain how you would handle the following situation:
Player X appeals their ban in great detail, apology, and effort. You check the ban list and find that another member of staff banned them permanently for Harassment and that this is their first ban. How would your response to the appeal be?
Why I should be promoted (we recommend around 100 words):.
The applications of course would have to be named like this:
[SCP-RP Moderator] (Name)'s Application
[SCP-RP Administrator] (Name)'s Application
[SCP-RP Super Administrator] (Name)'s Application
[SCP-RP Head Administrator] (Name)'s Application
Administration
It's not up to me if the server's going to be using the ULX menu or FAdmin, though I wanted to suggest an Administrator and Moderator on Duty skin. They would have to be the same apart from the colors, Moderators would have orange stripes, eyes, etc and Administrators red of course.
▶ I would like to thank everyone for taking their time to read this server suggestion, and would personally like to give a HUGE thank you to Nepgear, Orang3 and Dr. House for assisting me with the development of this project by gathering content, giving me suggestions and helping out with various testings!
▶ Also, just another small notice: Thanks to the assistance of, again, Nepgear, Orang3, and Dr. House, throughout the past few weeks We've been collecting/gathering content so in case this suggestion gets accepted, We can immediately start working on the server and actually start from something.
