TOPIC: [TTT - Suggestion(staff related)] - Replay feature

Why the replay feature? I've come across numerous situations where, I can't track down any evidence for handling the report in question.
Just a few example situations:
+ "Player has been reported for propkilling, however the accused player disagrees with that"
+ "Player has been reported for rdming, however the accused player claims that the victim passed an unidentified body"

In these situations there is a chance people are not being honest, as a result you will end up with a time consuming conversation between two players who don't agree with eachother. You as a staff member unfortunately can't do much about it, since you don't have any evidence that support one of the players.

I think that the replay feature is able to provide staff members with vital information, which can disclose the whole situation properly and prevent you from opening a wasteful private chat that doesn't lead to anything.



The video from above is just an example from another server that uses the feature. By this, propkillers can be easily exposed, and the question of passing unided bodies can be solved. The replay option will not only help with these situations but will also surely clarify many other different, unclear situations.

If i'm correct this used to be a feature but it was removed because it caused too much lag to server (along side death match) . IF i'm wrong then i would love for this to be a feature on ttt !

The thing is the logs allow you to deal with 90% of all situations effectively. I personally don't think this is needed, it was on the server before but was never used and was extremely buggy.


Besides, it will be a miracle if they actually added something to the server.

If I’m correct, there was already one which was removed due to too much pressure on the server which created lag

I think the logs show most of what happend although this does seem usefull in some cases, shame TTT rarely gets any update.

The staff members, are indeed already able to handle the biggest part of reports effectively. However I think it would not harm the server to enable the staff to deal with 'all' situations properly. You might see it as a useful addition, which can be used when needed.

About the lagg.... I'm not sure when this feature got removed from the server, but while time passed, developers managed to improve the plugin. It's possible this option is not buggy and laggy as it used to be anymore!

i've heard that before... I think the server owner(s) do a great job by taking the responsibility of actually owning the server and such... But keeping the server up to date and bugfree is another thing. if ZARP actually have the aspirations to achieve/maintain a high rank as a TTT server, it should really consider hearing out the suggestions and opinions of her users.

I played back in June (2017) and nothing changed

Any and all staff features that are not available were removed due to bugs or lagged the server

I used the Deathscene in almost every single report before it got removed. For me it was the most useful thing. Now new Staff get confused with complicated reports and sometimes, they must ask the people in the report for video proof.

Back then the owners never told us, the LT, why the deatscene got removed, but if I were them I would remove this feature ONLY if I couldn't fix it's issues or if it legit destroyed the server and even if I did remove it, I would do my best to find the solution and add it back. I am sure that it is possible for a feature like that to be added to the server but i guess it must be compatible with the ZARP server. I bet it's extremely difficult to make and i understand why the Owners don't have the time to make it. But what if the people who know coding in ZARP all work together, so that we can have something like this implemented to all the ZARP servers except Bhop and Surf? In my opinion (if that is even possible to happen, cause i personally don't know shit about coding) that would be extremely helpful.

It got removed as it was poorly coded and could not handle large amounts of players on the server. This caused it to lag the server and after a while crash the server. Every situation can be handled by looking at the logs so there is no point us spending a lot of time re-coding this.

Can not be handled by simply looking at the logs. So no. Not every situation.
People also use these reasons as excuses. For example, P1 reports P2 for RDM. P2 says: "You passed by an Unidentified body" (but P1 didn't do so). P1 says that he didn't do that but P2 keeps using that to get away. At the end of the day, we are forced to ask for video proof and most people don't have it. So that makes us pass the report and P2 will get away with RDMing someone for no reason.

So yes, 90% of the situations can be handled by looking at the logs, but in my opinion we should have all situations covered without the need of a video. So it would be Nice if some people in the community start working on that to make it better. Since the owners have too much work to handle with that stuff (which is understandable) the Members can start working on that. Gurren even mentioned of hiring someone to do that. But i don't know if that's a good idea.
