Estimated Server Time
Server 1:
Gametracker says 6 Hours. I though believe I have more than 20 hours.
(And from last moderator period 2 years back definetely more than 150 hours)
Server 2:
Gametracker says 14 Hours. I know gt failed to accumulate the first 100 hours.. This also happened last time I was on here. And now it is behind 75 hours. I did not play much on the other servers when I was mod, I only came when called/needed.
Server 3:
Gametracker says 4 Hours. And for this I think it is quite right. I have not spent much on there. But I like the map so it is fun :b
My estimated time online accumulated only based around new activity would be around 200 hours. Give or take a little.
If I keep it up like I have done these past days. I believe 20-80 hours a week. The wide range is based on my last year of college. I have varying 'school' days. My projects, essays, homework and such differs greatly too. I also live with my girlfriend in an apartment so I have a lot of things to get done at random times. So there are a lot of stuff going on, but garry's mod is nice and ables me to chill a lot.
Age:
18 Years old.
Birthday 27th March.
Languages:
I am from Denmark, hence my motherlanguage is Danish.
I understand most swedish, and a bit norwegian. But I am poor at speaking them fully.
As for deutsch, well I have not used it in two years, but I understand the most basics.
Explain "Random Death Match" and give an example scenario.
Short: Random Death Match is when player x kills player y or and z, with no valid reason for it to be role play.
Example and Further explanation
Johnny joins the server as usual, he is on server 2 and leaves spawn after choosing his job. After walking down the street for some time, suddenly two people are shooting at eachother, a cop and a gangster. Due to the crossfire he feels he should also join in, and decides to take out a machine gun to shoot and kill them both. Then he walks on as if nothing happened.
This is a good example, because he is neither involved in the role play, nor is he actually involved in the gunfight, he is at no part involved enough to engage like one would in RP. The most he can try to explain this is to say "I feared being shot at", which is FearRP. However FearRP only applies to select events, and this is definetely not one of them. Alas he broke the rules.
(I must remember to tell all 'names' are fictive persons in the examples)
Explain "New Life Rule" and give an example scenario.
Explanation: When one is dead, they must not return to same 'district' within 3 minutes. Nor can they utilize motives before their dead in their 'new life'. Which means something like your base and base team, is a go, as they are more of a game aspect. However stuff like revenge or rising from the dead to save your buddies from where you died, is too unrealistic and therefore the NLR is implemented. With no incentive/reason one cannot perform actions that will 'break' others roleplay.
Example and Further explanation
Johnny and his two friends are basing, and after two quarters of an hour have flewn by, there are three thieves who raids them. Exemplarily Johnny and one of his friends die. Now as there are only one in the base left, they hurry back to the base to kill the raiders. In the attempt before one of the raiders died, and now that they do not expect the two to come back, they are easily wiped. Johnny and his two friends still have their base standing till' today, and have printed more than gmod's community altogether.
Well, the fact that they 1. went back to the base. Is enough to deem it breaking NLR. Now, the second ordeal is that they went back to kill, which is 'exact' revenge. That's a second rule break of NLR. Now the third point here, that is mostly not included in sits as if this had happened, many neglect this part. The fact that Johnny and his friend actually RDM'ed the two thieves. As they should have 'forgotten' their earlier life, they have lost all engagement/involvement with these raiders, and as such should not have killed them.
Explain "Metagaming" and give an example scenario.
Explanation: Metagaming is utilizing information that was gained out of character. In this particular situation, it's metagaming when someone writes in OOC chat which is based on out of character, although this is usually described as metagaming, the act of sharing information in OOC in general is not the metagaming part, as the word says 'gaming'. Which means taking action. So if one took action due to someone else giving away Johnny's location in OOC chat, it would then be metagaming.
Example and Further explanation
Johnny is on skype with his buddies, and currently they are bored and just jumping around server. Now suddenly someone in OOC writes about Trumps's money printers location, and they decide to run there to raid the place to get the money printers.
Despite the metagaming being in taking action, it should also be Trumps's fault for taking this information and sharing it out of character. What would be more responsible would be adverting it, or mic spamming it. However how he got the information would then also have to have been from ingame, maybe having survived half raiding the base, or having been told by the basers himself.
Explain how you would handle the following situation:
Player x accuses player y for RDMing him, the console log shows that player y killed player x.
I would of course first teleport to Player x, ask him what happened, and how he meant it was RDM. I like to hear the story from the accusations place, and then from the opposition afterwards. Anyhow the two stories have to come to an agreement. I would also look through their warnings first, which would be of a little help in checking the occurance of similar events. Now if they match up and it was really RDM, and player y has no warnings as of yet, I would give him a verbal warning. This could be his first time etcetera. However if this was not the first warning, and if he had even had recent warnings I would take a bit stricter measures. If the sit went in the opposite direction, which is player x lying and wanted revenge, I'd give him a verbal warning, and even if this had occured before, it would really depend on how much he was 'lying' in the sit, which would potentially be disrespectful and implication of sit etc. So I would either verbally warn him or actually warn him. Most likely the latter just to be on the informative side so the collegues would be able to discern his attitude in the next F1.
Explain how you would handle the following situation:
Player x accuses player y for breaking NLR, the kills are pretty close together in console (a few lines apart) at a peak time.
As the same case above, the first thing I always to is to speak to both parts. Galdly together. If their stories match up, most likely this event could have multiple explanations. Let's try to say that Player x had been raided, and his base is close to spawn. Since he had not died, it would most likely point to player y raiding him, and then returning after death. However in case player x had been killed just recently after killing player y, they could have met eachother at spawn or somewhere close in a complete opposite direction both not wanting to break NLR, and then player x could have potentially shot at him and then been killed by Player x, resulting in his death. This would be shown on the log however and would be discernible. In case this did not happen, their stories again would have to match for me to make an exact assumption. Unless they do not match, as long as player y has no warnings I would not benefit from warning him until further proved guilty. So I would verbally warn him and watch him precautiously for some time. Hoping for the outcome to be differently next time. In case log shows otherwise, or maybe he had already been warned before, I would either warn him (if proof was decent through logs) or verbally warn him, else kick/ban accordingly to warnings and other situations.
Explain how you would handle the following situation:
Player x calls for help in the OOC chat because his bank is being raided
First and foremost I think it would be best to declare in OOC that anyone who came to his rescue would be metagaming. Normally this case would be easily fixed, as I could tell him to use /advert from then on. But in case it happens multiple times, I'd verbally warn him by going to him. If he had already been warned before for this exact reason, I'd warn him again and take more precautious action. Punished accordingly.
Why should I be chosen?
I believe that I can be a great asset of good use to the Zarp community. And I dearly hope to get back on the team and attend the meetings with great conduct. This includes criticizm and feedback. I am not afraid to speak, and I like to be involved.
While I am also mature and friendly, I am not on a vendetta cruise trying to reap Zarp of the rulebreakers. Generally I believe that there is a right where there is a wrong. I see no deep meaning in banning people unless neccessary, because they will most likely move on to a new server. This will in the end have most rulebreakers banned. But what about the people who could have changed? Or the people who did change? Maybe there are some perspective you did not view before the ban, was it truly justified. Therefore I like the thought of handling things easily
Not only this, I have immense experience in userhandling/userbase management. My experience goes beyond garrys mod and extends not only to web based games, but also actual RPG's FPS etc. I have also had other major ranks on other GMod DarkRP servers. Ranging from Mod to Owner. But it is in the past. I know that I can be of help. I can help the players, I understand the players, and I do not grow tired of helping players.
As a team it is the best to think alike. I like getting 'colleagues' view points/perspective on certain things. No matter how broad and wide ones vision is, you just can not see all around.
Thanks for reading my application thoroughly.
