Explain how you feel that your time as a moderator will contribute to you becoming an admin.
I have tried applying for an admin 2 weeks ago and since then I think that I worked up on my maturity and being a better role model. As an admin, I would like to host events for people so they would enjoy something new and fun. I was a moderator for about 8 weeks now and I do try and do f1's fairly and give a reasonable punishment. I would like to become an admin as I would like to step up myself and to look into more serious incidents that occur during role play.
Explain a situation as a moderator you encountered that was an obstacle you had to work around (EG: defiant user).
The most hardest situation that I personally encountered is a problem that involved a user that was mass randomly death matching on the server. I was the only moderator online and all i could did was give him 3 warnings until he got kicked. This situation could of been solved more efficiently if i would of banned him for 1 day
If you had to write a facebook post to train a moderator in between 200-300 words, what would you say to give them the full grasp?
Hello and congratulations for getting chosen as a moderator !
There are some commands that will be useful for your in situations. You will use some more than others, so lets begin !
The command that you will use the most is /tp. This command will let you teleport yourself and other users across the map. You can use /tp <name> to teleport users to you. Remember that where you point your cross hair, you or the user will go there.
The similar command to /tp is /bring <player> <player> or just /bring <player> so the player will be brought to you. You can use /back <player> to teleport the player to his original position. You can use /back to teleport yourself to original position. You can also teleport a player to the spawn using /backspawn <player>.
/freeze <player> will freeze the user for the time until you will use /unfreeze <player>. In tab menu, you can click on a player and select how long you want to freeze them for. The options are 10 seconds, 30 seconds, 1 minute, 5 minutes and 10 minutes.
In some cases such as propspam, you will have to use /kick <player> <reason>.You can use these commands by players name or their steam id.
/slay <player> can be used to slay someone. There are 4 types of slay: Normal, Silent, Rocket and explosion. You will rarely have to use this command, but it can be used on people who break new life rule.
You will be using your f1 a lot of times as it provides you logs, shows all the requests for staff and shows the warnings that each member of staff has given. When you press on a request, you should see the options of handling it, discarding it as spam or abuse or just copy the users information. When you will select an f1, you will have option to finish it as marked, abort handling it, bring the user to you. This will be used nearly all the time.
another button that you get is f6 and that brings up punishment logs. You can look at the logs to see the current players online or you can go all the way to the botton and click on search. Then you will search them by steam id and after you click ok, you should see their record.
Explain how you would handle the following situation:
Player x appeals their ban in great detail, apology and effort. You check the ban list and find that you banned them permanently for propspam, and that this is their first ban. How would your response to the appeal be?
I would check his previous warnings and then I would try and contact him and tell him how serious prop spamming is. Then I would consider reducing his ban to 3-5 days depending on his previous records.
Why I should be promoted (we recommend around 150 words).
I am a moderator for a while now and I can deal with all kinds of users and help out newer moderators that have been accepted. I feel that I am known by a lot of people in server 1 and server 2. I always sort out situations calmly and professionally. As i have been a moderator for about 8 weeks now, I have noticed that in some cases I do not have enough power. E.G A person was on mass rdm spree and he killed about 10 players in a space of 2 minutes. I was not able to ban him as there was no other admins around. (this happened in server 2) And another one that I encountered was cheaters that have speed hacks. I was not able to stop him, but i did kick him out of the server. Most common type that happens to me a lot is people leaving to avoid punishment. Most of the time, I get an admin to ban them but some manage to get away.
Thank You for reading my application again.
