Explain how you feel that your time as a moderator will contribute to you becoming an admin.
Warning: Spoiler! [ Click to expand ][ Click to hide ] When I was accepted into the staff team as a moderator a few weeks ago, I felt that I could help the server so much more. I've done various F1's with various scenarios. I am experienced with dealing with people who intend to break the rules. I also know the difference between when something was intentional or accidental. During my time as a moderator, I have gained more experience in a short time. Faster than when I was moderator on another server. I feel that I am ready for the next step.
Explain a situation as a moderator you encountered that was an obstacle you had to work around (EG: defiant user).
Warning: Spoiler! [ Click to expand ][ Click to hide ] During my time as a moderator, I had an F1 to check a base that had a building sign for a long time. Since there were no admins on at the time to check it for me, I asked the owner of the base to let me check it. He shouted at me to go away, saying that there was nothing inside. At that point, there was nothing I could do. I apologized to the person who made the F1, and ended it. I felt that my powers were limited, and there were some F1's I could not do without the help of higher ranking staff members. I like to be independent, and not have to ask for help from others, unless needed.
If you had to write an email to train a moderator in between 200-300 words, what would you say to give them the full grasp?
Warning: Spoiler! [ Click to expand ][ Click to hide ] Dear [Individual], First of all, I would like to congratulate you on becoming a moderator of ZARP's SSRP servers! There are a few things you need to know about before helping out with the community. In this email, I will be showing you the commands you have gained as a moderator, how to use them properly, and the scenarios you might encounter that enables you to use them. They will be ordered from the ones you will be using most often to least often. I will also show you a new tool and your new F1 system.
/warn [<Playername> <SteamID>] [Reason]
This will be used when you have sufficient proof to convict a player of breaking a rule. This gives one warning to the player for the reason you have specified. If this player receives 3 warnings in a short time, he/she will be kicked from the server. If the player joins back again, and receives another warning, the player will be automatically banned for 60 minutes. If you have enough proof to convict Player "Y" of breaking NLR, you will use this command.
/unwarn [<Playername> <SteamID>]
This will be used if you have accidentally warned a player. If you were intending to warn Player "Y" but typed Player "X" instead, you would use this command.
/tp, /teleport [Playername]
This is used to teleport the specified person to where your crosshairs are pointing. This can be used to teleport a player if he is stuck, or as a substitute for the /bring command I will show you. You can use this when you have picked up an F1 and need to bring the player to you. If you do not put a playername, it will teleport YOU to where your cursor is pointing. This is helpful in getting up on roofs for F1's.
/bring [Playername]
This will be used when you want to teleport a player to you. This is different from the teleport command, as it teleports the player to an area near you, as to where your cursor is. You can use this when you need to a player for a F1.
/goto [Playername]
This will be used when you need to go to a player's location. You can use this when you have picked up a F1 about propblock, as the person who sent it is most likely near the propblock, depending on how old the F1 is.
/back [Playername]
This will be used when you are finished talking with a player for an F1. This will teleport them back to their last location, from where you teleported them. If they move during the F1, it might teleport them back to where they moved from, and is not entirely reliable. If this happens, you can have them walk back, and teleport them down if you are on a roof. Also, if you have teleported yourself somewhere, you can use the command on yourself to send you back.
/kick [Playername]
This command will disconnect the specified player from the server. This will be used when someone refuses to remove their propblock, is propspamming, or is continuously breaking the rules, regardless of your warnings.
/freeze [Playername] [Seconds]
This command prevents the specified player from moving. This will be used when you are trying to talk to someone, but keeps walking away from you. You can also use this to stop people from mass RDMing. Do not forget to unfreeze them using /unfreeze [Playername].
/mute [Playername]
This command prevents a player from using forms of communication. (Eg. Typing, Microphone) This can be used when a player is spamming.
/slay [Playername]
This command kills a player. This can be used when a player refuses to holster a heavy gun they are not allowed to have due to their current job.
/slap [Playername] [Damage] [Repetitions]
This command flings the specified player, dealing the specified damage for the amount of times put in. This command is not very useful, as other commands can be used in place of this. It is recommended you do not use this to punish people.
/ignite [Playername] [Seconds]
This command sets the specified player on fire for a set amount of time. This command is not very useful, as other commands can be used in place of this. It is recommended you do not use this to punish people. These are all the commands you will be receiving as a moderator. They are not to be abused in any way and for any reason. They are there to help you with your job. If you forget what to put in these commands, there is a template to the right of the chatbox as you start typing. Also, as you start typing a name, to the right, it will show who you are targeting. This is useful, as you do not want to teleport multiple people. There is also a tool you get with your Mod On Duty job, called Admin Keypad Checker. This took tells you which keypads are connected to which fading doors, and how long they open for. They are used for checking bases, to see if they comply with the rules. Also, you have a new F1 system. There, you will choose which F1's you would like to handle, the warnings players have, and the logs. If you right-click an F1 a player has made, you have the option of handling it, or discarding it as abuse/spam. In the next tab, you will see logs of warnings other staff members have given out. It will show you who was warned, why, which staff member warned the player, and the amount of warns they have. You can use this if you need to unwarn a player, or warn him again. Finally, in the third tab, there is the logs consisting of job changes, arrests, kills, warrants, wanteds, joins, disconnects, demotes, hits and name changes. They also give you a timestamp as to when they happened. They are there if you need to check such things. Again, I would like to congratulate you on becoming a moderator. This e-mail has given you most, if not all the information you need to know as a moderator. If you are unsure about things, ask other staff. Most importantly, you need to use common sense. The rules are just there as guidelines and a reference. If you think somebody is doing something wrong, you're probably right. I hope to see you on the servers! ~ Naranja
Explain how you would handle the following situation:
Player x appeals their ban in great detail, apology and effort. You check the ban list and find that you banned them permanently for propspam, and that this is their first ban. How would your response to the appeal be?Warning: Spoiler! [ Click to expand ][ Click to hide ] Hello. Since I am the one who banned you, I will be giving you my decision on this appeal. First of all, you need to know that propspam is a serious offense. It has the potential crash the server, in which players will lose their printers, weapons, etc. They will not be happy with you. I have banned you permanently because of this. However, since you have made an appeal that goes in great detail, and your apology, I have decided to lower your ban to TWO WEEKS. During this time, you should go over the rules, making sure you know them. If you are seen committing the same offense, you will not be unbanned, seeing that you have had time to think about what you have done.
Why I should be promoted (we recommend around 150 words).
Warning: Spoiler! [ Click to expand ][ Click to hide ] I have had experience as my time as a moderator. I am familiar with various F1's, and how to deal with them. I know when and how to use the commands. I've never had any mistakes using them thus far. I have over 80 hours worth of experience moderating on this server. As administrators on the server are not widely available 24/7, there are times when moderators are forced to sit and twiddle their thumbs if they need to request a ban. As I am frequently on, I can help other moderators if they were to request help from an administrator. I am also calm, mature, and work efficiently. I rarely lose my temper, if at all. This helps me make clear judgments, as anger can cloud them. While working on F1's, I never say anything unnecessary that will make me look unprofessional. There are also some times where I needed to powers that administrators have, such as cloak. If there is insufficient proof in an F1, occasionally I offer to supervise the suspected player breaking rules. But when this person walks into his base, there is nothing I can do. Increasing the variety of powers I have will vastly help my job as a staff member. As I've already stated this, I would like to take the next step and be promoted to an administrator of the SSRP servers. I have great experience as a moderator, I can help other moderators requesting administrative help, and it will help me with my job. |

<strong>First and foremost,</strong> we'd like to thank you for making the effort to apply for a rank on the ZARP Semi Serious DarkRP. Your application has been discussed at an administrative meeting, and from there it has been voted on.
As the number of 'yes' votes exceeded the number of 'no' votes you received, you have been <strong>accepted</strong>.. Towards the bottom there is a button leading you to a download of a 'welcome pack' (moreso intended for new moderators) - this will give you a brief insight into your duty and how to do it, but before we can give you your rank you will have to attend a training session. You can ask any superadmin for your training.. You need to attend a weekly meeting on our Teamspeak server (IP is 94.23.19.200), it would also be appreciated if you can click the banner in my signature and add me on steam so that we can manage the meetings more easily. Congratulations on behalf of the administrative team. |
