How do you feel that your time as an administrator has contributed to becoming a super administrator:
I've been an admin for about 12 weeks now. In this time i have dealt with many situations. I believe that i've resolved the many situations in a fair and respectful manner. My understanding of the rules and procedures has been refreshed and refined. I've grown really confident in my reasoning, and evaluation of evidence, when making my final verdicts on reports and appeals. My position as an admin has given me the powers that allow me to help everyone in a better, more effective way, and i wish to continue expanding on that.
What makes you a good candidate for the super administrator team? ( in this part you can go as detailed as you want):
Activity
I'm very confident in my ability, and i do my best daily, to maintain a really good, stable, activity on the server. My activity swings from about 800 to 1500 minutes from week to week. And i handle as many in-game reports as i can.
- Forum -
I check the forum at least twice every day. I leave feedback on new applicants, suggestions, appeals and whatever other topics i find interesting. And i handle appeals when possible.
Attitude
I think of myself as generally nice. I know my humor is a bit wack, but i never intent to provoke anyone that i know isn't ok with it. I keep a relaxed and neutral approach when dealing with the various situations you have to deal with as a staff. I don't take staffing too seriously; and ruin the fun for everyone. And i try my best to help users and staff when they ask for help with basicly anything.
Experience
Apart from the position(s) im currently holding, i have also had previous positions as a staff before.
I have a really good understanding of the rules, ethos, and what i should do in the many situations i have, and will face in the future. I have learned a lot from the many mistakes i have made, and the many questions i have asked. I take my time and don't rush through reports. I know to always have proper, 100% clear evidence, before making a final verdict.
Dedication
As mentioned in
activity, i actively get on the server and check the forum everyday.
I hold myself to a high standard when staffing. When i screw up i try to fix my mistake and make it right, instead of just
sweaping it under the rug.
I'm open for all constructive feedback, to better my abilities and knowledge as a staff member. I'm open for taking additional responsibilities/duties, that doesn't necessarily have to do with the staffing that happens on the server itself.
Explain a situation as an administrator you encountered that was an obstacle that required the help of a lead team member but you had to work around it when no lead team member was available:
I have done 3 hacker reports in my time; 2 of which the reported was punished for cheating.
When i deal with hackers i go in spectator mode and record the hacker's POV. And i run the !anticheat command on them.
Every time i have dealt with a hacker there has been no LT members on the server. So i also @ the LT on the staff discord, to get on the server, with the hacker's name and steamid attached to the message. If no LT member gets on the server before the hacker leaves, and/or the anticheat didn't find anything. I post my video evidence in the hacker reports channel with the hacker's steamid attached.
Explain how you would review and handle an abuse report against another staff member:
First by reviewing the contents of the report, and responding to it with "Handling"; to make it clear who will be handling the report. Then i would reach out the accused staff member. And tell them what the situation is, and asking about their story/view on it.
If the story of the reporter isn't quite clear and/or missed something, i would also attempt to reach out to them for their full story.
Then, by taking everything relevant into account, i would formulate a final verdict on the report and post it:
Accepted:
Hi
X.
After having reviewed your report, your provided evidence, and having talked with
Y staff member.
I have decided to
accept your abuse report.
Y staff member, has made it very clear to me, that they understand this kind of behavior from a staff member is unacceptable. And, that they wholeheartedly promise to never do anything like this again, or they will face consequences.
This has been:
Thank you for taking the time to file this report.
Denied:
Hi
X.
After having reviewed your report, your provided evidence, and having talked with
Y staff member.
I have decided to
deny your abuse report.
This is because your provided evidence is insufficient. It's clear to me that
Y staff member did not abuse their powers, and has done nothing wrong.
This has been:
Thank you for taking the time to file this report.
Explain in detail how you would act in the following situation:
A staff member bans a user for an excessive amount of time, how do you approach the staff member to ensure that everyone is treated fairly?
I would check the user's rap-sheet to look for recent previous bans, that might explain the ban length. Then I would reach out to the admin, and ask why they picked that ban length. When it shows the admin does not know of the suggested ban lengths. I would refer the admin to the handbook, and guide the admin through the ban lengths, what time period of bans should be considered when issuing a ban. And the common reasons/situations the admin should use the ban command. Then i would make the admin unban and re-ban the user, with an appropriate ban length.
Explain in detail how you would act in the following situation:
A staff member is dealing with a user but is struggling to do so in an appropriate manner. How would you resolve the situation?
Whether the staff member asks for help, or i'm the one to spot them struggling.
I will quickly evaluate the situation, and either, guide them through the situation; with what to say to/do with the user. Or intervene; take over on the situation, and deal with the user myself.
Afterwards, i would sit the staff member aside, and ask the staff member, what they think made them struggle in the situation. Then i would give them some tips, and share what i would do in such situations. If they are not sure about ulx, commands or other staff stuffs. I would refer them to, and guide them through, the relevant menus, or sections in the staff handbook.
Explain in detail how you would act in the following situation:
A staff member accuses another staff member of breaking rules, how would you help resolve the situation?
I would first ask the accus
ing staff member,
X, if they have evidence of the accus
ed staff member,
Y, breaking server rules.
If not, i would ask
X to collect evidence in the future; to be potentially used at the LT meeting.
I would reach out to both parties and ask for their sides of the story; to get a understanding for what actually happened, and if there might have been a misunderstanding. I would then clarify for them that: You, in particular as a staff member, should not be breaking server rules. And that they should stop breaking server rules immediately.
If
X's evidence clearly shows
Y breaking server rules. Then i would be bringing up
Y in the next LT meeting.
Explain in detail how you would act in the following situation:
A staff member acts in a disrespectful manner towards another staff member and or sparks an argument within the staff team. How do you resolve the situation?
I would break up the argument, and tell the staff members to remain calm and respectful towards eachother. I would then bring aside the disrespectful staff member, and ask them why they are starting arguments with other staff members. I would tell them that they should not be acting disrespectful towards other staff members, and that i may have to bring them up at the next LT meeting. And i would make them apologize to the other staff member for being rude.
Explain in detail how you would act in the following situation:
You spot a staff member breaking rules to the point of harming other users, how do you approach the staff member?
I immediately tell them to stop what they are doing. I may force them to stop by using
slay or
force spectate. And i would ask them to immediately explain themself. When they have explained themself. I tell them that they should never ever do that again, and that i would be bringing them up at the next LT meeting.
If the staff member continues to break server rules, i would emergency demote them on the spot.
All feedback is appreciated. Thank you for reading my app.
