Why are you interested in being part of the Community Council?
I've always been interested in assessing and resolving the issues within this community. Especially in recent times, I've been brainstorming ideas and fixes to improve the quality of life here on ZARP. As a Community Council member, I'll have a lot more reach when it comes to suggesting and finding what I believe would work the best for the community.
On another note, I've been on all sides of the community. I'm good friends with perhaps the most polarizing members of the community and I always look for a solution for both of the parties in question. I believe this will translate into better and fairer decisions within the meetings. Keeping
all parts of the community happy are extremely important, and I simply want to ensure that we can accomplish that.
Why do you believe you should be selected for the Community Council? (We recommend at least 100 words)
I hold some qualities that I believe to be extremely beneficial in a Community Council member: I'm a very technical, analytical and nonpartisan individual. Quite frankly, I think most people can vouch for me when I say that I always attempt to come to the fairest and most logical conclusion when it comes to virtually anything that requires an objective & logical mind.
I always strive to make the members of the community happy which I believe becomes evident in the fact that, as aforementioned, I have people who support me from all corners of the community. Some people might unintentionally let some bias slip in; this is something that won't happen to me, or at the very least not to the extent that it would completely turn a verdict upside down.
Even when it comes to people I don't necessarily share too much light with, I always do my best to make them happy and arrive at the most appropriate conclusion for their situation. This enables me to deduce what options are the best for all parts of the community, including the ones that I don't share particularly "strong" relationships with.
All that is mentioned above are arguments for the level of decisionmaking and equitability. Now I'll move onto my overall engagement in the community in terms of making my own suggestions and releasing my own ideas.
First of all, I've made a fair number of suggestions, varying from a simple UI change to the addition of a new segment of the
Community Team
[1]. A lot of these are made for the sole purpose of putting the ideas out there. Which is something I would want to do more frequently, and through the medium of a meeting with the CM members is the perfect way for me to do that.
Second, I always have tasteful and elaborate contributions to most things relevant to the community. A recent example would be
this post in response to the concept of a "classic" SSRP server. In this particular thread, I went into what I believe would create the dynamic and feeling that people remember from the old days, while still retaining some modern features so the server isn't brought back to the stone age.
Third, I have a very good experience being a staff member of the server, and I probably have one of the cleanest records for someone who has been playing for almost four years. (my last punishment was around 3-4 years ago). Seeing as this position, in particular, would require someone who is very trusted by the community and staff members, I think it would suffice to say that I have garnered a lot of trust throughout my days as Lead Team on SSRP, Forum Staff here, and as a complying member of the community roughly ever since I joined.
There is probably more that I could add to this application, and I'll make sure to update it with any new information I feel could be important for this thread. With that in mind, I don't want you to need to read an entire book of negligible reasons so I'll leave it at this for now.
Thanks for reading my application. Feedback is greatly appreciate.
[1] In reference to the infamous "Staff Manager Team" which I have since informed .uzi that I've modified greatly. The goal of the suggestion is to improve the level of active investigation going on in the staff team and focuses on allocating and investigating staff members more actively rather than passively. More information on the way.
