RP Name: MartinGaming Time Zone: CET (UTC+1) Link to Steam Profile: martingamingx SteamID: STEAM_0:0:75619383 Current Gametracker Profiles: Older Gametracker Profiles: Server 1 - MartinGamingX, MartinGaming, |Z| Martin Server 2 - MartinGaming, |Z| Martin Estimated Server Time: ~ 200h Languages I speak: German (native), English Previous Staff-Position: SSRP-Admin from December 2015 to March 2016 (Resigned) Explain how you feel that your time as a moderator will contribute to you becoming an admin: In my time of being a moderator, I have dealt with a lot of very distinct situations. I have learned how to deal with most kinds of people a staff member will encounter in his daily duties. I am lot more confident now than I was two weeks ago. I've tried to help other staff members as much as possible. They also always made sure to help me, when I had a problem. All in all, my time as moderator really helped me grow into my staff position and I think I am ready to make the next step now. Explain a situation as a moderator you encountered that was an obstacle you had to work around (EG: defiant user): I was dealing with two people that were heavily arguing about a rule break. In the middle of talking to them, another user snuck onto our roof and started to scream "This is my roof, get off my roof!". I quickly teleported to another roof, far away from the roof we were previously on and continued talking to the two people. After about two minutes, the guy came back onto my roof and started to annoy us again. I told him to stop interrupting our sit. He started saying "Actually, you can't do anything about it, because I am not interrupting your sit. You are technically interrupting your sit yourself.". He started screaming and running around again. I teleported him back on the street and tried to continue. As you might already guess, he came back. He spawned in a prop and flew back up to us to continue annoying us. Since I had clearly told him to stop and since he was prop-flying I teleported him a few metres away from us and froze him. After dealing with the two guys, that originally made the request, I dealt with the "annoying guy" seperately. He ended up getting a lesson about respect and was warned for prop surfing. If you had to write a facebook post to train a moderator in between 200-300 words, what would you say to give them the full grasp?: Warning: Spoiler! [ Click to expand ][ Click to hide ]
SSRP Moderator Guide
Congratulations on becoming a moderator on the Zarp SSRP Servers! This guide will walk you through your new abilities and duties as a moderator. If you don't understand something or need help, don't be afraid of contacting another staff member. They will gladly help you on your journey to becoming an exemplary moderator. Before you continue on with this guide, make sure you fully understand our Staff Ethos, that dictates how you should act as a staff member. Simply click here, to open the Staff Ethos. Lets introduce you to your staff duties! As a moderator, your main task is going to involve handling admin requests, commonly known as "F1's". As you might know, F1's are created by users, which require the assistance of a staff member. From now on, whenever someone creates an F1, you will receive an in-game popup in the upper right corner of your screen. To view more details about the F1, as well as to handle it, simple press the F1-Button on your keyboard. You will be greeted with the "Zarp Administrative Center"-Interface. In there, you will have an overview of all active admin requests. If you want to handle a request, simple right-click on it and select the option "Handle this". How exactly do you handle F1's? Simply right-click the request again, to get additional options such as "Bring", "Goto", or "Mark as finished". Starting of, you should use the "Goto"-Option to get to the player, that needs you. Ensure, that the player is not in an RP-Situation and talk to them. Find out whats going on, and try to be as unbiased and rightful as possible. You can use the commands described below to better handle the situation. If you are being disturbed by another player during your F1, just teleport yourself and the player that seeks your help to a roof. Always make sure you don't interrupt any important situations, before you teleport someone away. If you find, that someone is breaking a server rule, its your job to hand out a punishment. The severity of the punishment is mostly up to you. After you have successfully handled the situation, bring the players involved in your sit back to their original location or back to spawn. Don't forget to mark the F1 as finished in the Administrative Center. How to decide on the severity of a punishment? Before thinking about a punishment, you should ensure, that you know for a fact, that the suspect has comitted the rule break. If you are not sure, don't hand out a punishment. In general, staff members are not required to store evidence for rule breaks, but in difficult cases, it could be pretty neat to have a recording or a screenshot on hand. Now, how harsh should the punishment be? Its mostly up to you. You should ask yourself the following questions. How much damage has the suspect caused with his rule break? How has the suspect behaved, when confronted. How many punishments have been recently handed out to the suspect? (find out, using the interfaces described below) Has the suspect apologized? Do you think the suspect will comit another rule break? These questions should help you decide, how you punish someone. If you are still unsure, you can always ask other staff members for advice. You should not be afraid to hand out punishments yourself however. What commands are availabe to you as a moderator? Teleport-Commands:
/teleport [Name/SteamID] - Teleports the specified player to the position you are looking at.
/tp [Name/SteamID] - Alternative to the "/teleport"-Command

/chatmute <Name/SteamID> [Duration] [Reason] - Restricts the specified player's ability to use text chat
/kick <Name/SteamID> [Reason] - Kicks the specified player from the server. What interfaces are available to you as a moderator? F1 - Zarp Administrative Center Warning: Spoiler! [ Click to expand ][ Click to hide ] When pressing the F1-Button on your keyboard, the Zarp Administrative Center will open. It consists out of four tabs with various utilities for your staff duty. The first tab is called "Admin Requests". Here you can see an overview of all active F1's, their subjects and who is handling them. The second tab is called "Warnings". Here you can see all warnings that have been handed out in the current session. You can view who has been warned by who for what and how many total warnings the warned subjects have. The third tab is called "Logging". Here, you can see all log entries that have been generated since you logged in. Kills, Job-Switches, Arrests, Defibs, Warrants, etc. can be found here. You can search the logs using the search bar in the upper right corner of the interface. We recommend searching for SteamID's, but be carefull, when searching ofr arrests. The arrested player's Steam ID doesent show up here. Use their name instead. The fourth tab is called "Active NLR". As the name suggests, you can see the active NLR-Timers of every player on the server. Very usefull for dealing with NLR-breakers. F6 - RapSheets Warning: Spoiler! [ Click to expand ][ Click to hide ] When pressing the F6-Button on you keyboard, the RapSheet-Overview will open. Here you can see all punishments that were handed out to a player. Bans, Warnings, Mutes, Jails, you can see everything here. Just select a player by searching for him in the "Select Player"-Dropdown in the upper left corner of the interface. If the player is now online, scroll all the way down the player list and click "Search". Just enter their SteamID to find their punishment history. Punishments that have been handed out up to two weeks prior are considered "recent" and are therefore marked red. These punishments should be considered, when handing out new punishments, as well as in staff meetings, when talking about someones application. Now you should be ready to attend your duty ingame. We hope you enjoy your new staff position and we trust in you to do a good job handling F1's. If you have any questions, feel free to ask another staff member. Don't worry. They will understand your struggle. Even head admins have been moderators once Explain how you would handle the following situation: Player x appeals their ban in great detail, apology and effort. You check the ban list and find that another admin banned them permanently for prop-spam, and that this is their first ban. How would your response to the appeal be? Warning: Spoiler! [ Click to expand ][ Click to hide ]
Thank you for submitting your appeal!
I have consulted your punishment with the staff member, that has issued it. From your very detailed appeal, we can clearly see, that you regret your actions. Since this is your first ban aswell, we have decided to lift it. You should be able to join the SSRP Servers again within a few minutes. Before you join however, make sure to read the rules again, to avoid future punishments. Why I should be promoted (we recommend around 150 words): As I stated in the above section on how my time as a moderator has contributed to me becoming an admin, I have grown very confident in the last two weeks. I can handle admin requests pretty efficient by now. Though, I make sure, that I always put enough time into each and every request I handle. So far, I have handled about 500 total F1's in my staff career here on Zarp. I am familiar with the set of commands I can access. I have learned how to handle even the most difficult situations. I feel ready to take on the next step. Becoming an admin would improve my efficiency by quite a bit. I have recently stumbled across situations, a moderator simply cannot handle by himself. (eg. Handing out bans, unowning doors, deleting props) Contacting other staff members to deal with the issue is sometimes very time taking. It would be much faster, if I could just handle those situations by myself. Thanks for reading my application, I hope I could convince you of my abilities and maybe I'll see you in the next admin meeting |

This is "Bumpy" the Bumplord. He bumps threads, because he sees other people do it. Just formally: BUMP!
I really don't want to do this again... its so pointless... But its what all cool kids do these days... I really miss the old days without bumping... Just so my bump is not fully useless, here is a poem for you: oh my sister, there are 77 dreams I wrote in a journal there is a glass of water I left on some patio there is a box of wisdom I buried at a dusty crossroad there is a beach where you are I can see you in the waves the razzle of the sand like a billion speckled stars and the horizon—black galaxy next time I see you you’ll be tan like Cary Grant |
