How do you feel that your time as an administrator has contributed to becoming a super administrator: While my time as admin has been short I have run into a great many kinds of rule breakers, from players who log on with no intentions other than rule breaking and making hell for staff and players, to new players who just don't understand the rules and need someone to help them learn the rules. My experience with staffing has not only been with players but also with my fellow staff whether it be they are new and need a little help with a sit, or they be seasoned staff members who just need some assistance or clarification on a rule. I try my best to help lead the staff team when LT isn't on and I understand that the jump from admin to super admin is a big one but I'm willing to put the time and effort into closing that gap and being the best staff member I can be.
What makes you a good candidate for the super administrator team? ( in this part you can go as detailed as you want):
I have been in the zarp community for close to 2 years and have been active in the community since the beginning of my time in the community. I feel I am a good canidate for super admin and the Lead Team for 3 main reasons: my dedication, my activity, and my past as a leader both in game and out of game.
Dedication
Both in real life and in game you can see my dedication and loyalty in a variety of ways: such as me sticking to one gang or one group of people (Or in this case the staff team). You can also see my dedication in my activity on the server and the number of f1s I do, and even when I'm not online I always get on when a staff member is needed and I make as available to get into contact with as possible. I take my job very seriously and that is very apparant in my work ethic.
Activity
I'm very active on the servers and although most of my time is spent on S1 I always make myself available when help is needed on the other servers. Even when I'm not online on the servers, I am almost always on the forums and make myself available to get in touch with over steam or discord. One my most proud accomplishments is how accessible I am and I strive to get better and intend to show that I'm someone that can be contacted.
Leadership
In almost all communities both in game and in real life I strive to be in a leadership position, such as in real life I am in band and hold multiple leadership positions such as Section leader since my sophmore year, drum major, band captain, and president of the band coucil in one of the largest bands in Texas. No matter what I've always prided myself on the trust and postions I've been put into by my Directors and my fellow band members. This attitude of me always striving to do better has always been one of my best aspects and my unwillingness to give up in a difficult position make me, in my opinion one of the best canidates for super admin.
Explain a situation as an administrator you encountered that was an obstacle that required the help of a lead team member but you had to work around it when no lead team member was available: Their have been numerous occasions that I have had to deal with a difficult situation without such as: issues with fellow staff members breaking rules, difficult players, and players that blatantly hack but can't be properly punished. One of the things I remember most clearly was at around 3 in the morning one night where their were no members of lead team on and a group of players were pretty clearly hacking and breaking rules and although they all ended up being banned if I had access to the ability to check if they were hacking I would have been able to better handle the problems and make the server a better place for my fellow players and staff members. Another problem that I had encountered was when I first got admin I had an encounter with a newer moderator who was "lacking" in his understanding of the rules and while weren't breaking any rules they were bordering on the line and making the staff team look poor breeding an atmosphere of disrespect and rule breakers that make the server a less enjoyable place for both fellow staff members and more importantly the players on the server.
Explain how you would review and handle an abuse report against another staff member:
Thank you for making this report
After looking at the evidence and consulting my fellow lead team members I have come to the conclusion that the way that *Staff members name* acted isn't in line with the way that the way we expect our staff members to conduct themselves. With this being said, I have reached out to *staff members name* and have discussed this report with them extensively in order to avoid a situation like this from ever happening again. This report will also be brought up in the meeting with lead team.
Explain in detail how you would act in the following situation:
A staff member bans a user for an excessive amount of time, how do you approach the staff member to ensure that everyone is treated fairly?
To handle an excessive ban I would reach out to the staff member either trough TeamSpeak or Steam and find a time that suits the two of us best discuss the issue. Once the meeting has taken place I would discuss the events that led up to the ban and get the staff members side of the story as to why he banned the person for the amount of time that he did. After our discussion and I had a good idea of what went down I would share my opinion as to show them why the ban was to harsh of a punishment. I would also remind the staff member that bans are to be considered a last resord option for rule breakers and should only be used in extreme situations and that they should work more on resolving the issues with the rule breaker instead of denying them entry into the server.
Explain in detail how you would act in the following situation:
A staff member is dealing with a user but is struggling to do so in an appropriate manner. How would you resolve the situation?
I would first approach the staff member not trying to impede or undermine the staff members authority or interfere with their sit. I would then attempt to help the staff member with the sit and attempt to find a reasonable ending to the sit. After the sit I would ask the staff member if we could talk over TS or Steam and attempt to help the staff member with whatever troubles they were having and help them attempt to avoid a situation like this in the future
Explain in detail how you would act in the following situation:
A staff member accuses another staff member of breaking rules, how would you help resolve the situation?
I would first reach out to both staff members and talk to them both privately, getting both sides of their stories. After I get a chance to talk to them both privately I would talk to them both in either a steam group chat or a TS spacer and sort it out pointing out what rule, if any the offending staff member broke and how to avoid breaking rules in the future. If no rules were broke I would the accused that it was a misunderstanding and help them move past this issue so that we can avoid issues in the future.
Explain in detail how you would act in the following situation:
A staff member acts in a disrespectful manner towards another staff member and or sparks an argument within the staff team. How do you resolve the situation?
In order to deal with a disrespectful I would get them in a private conversation in TS or over Steam. Once in this chat I would ask the offending staff member to share their side of the story and why they felt it neccessary to disrespect their fellow staff team. After hearing his side of the story I would remind him that him that we are first and foremost a team and that issues like this do nothing but put the team in a worst position than we were in before the incident took place. I would remind the offending staff team that it is never okay to blatantly disrespect their fellow staff and that if they have an issue bring it up with the staff member or lead team in a calm and respectful manner.
Explain in detail how you would act in the following situation:
You spot a staff member breaking rules to the point of harming other users, how do you approach the staff member?
I would begin by approaching the abusing staff member with a calm and clear head, ask them to stop what they're doing and ask them to join TS to ask them if they understood to what extent their actions were harming players the server. I would than remind them that the staff team should be something that players look to as examples for what to do and that by abusing their power their actions undermine every staff member and distance the team of keeping the server clean. If the staff member doesn't see what they did wrong I would collect the necessary evidence and strip them of their rank until a meeting can be had to discuss the accused staff members behavior
