Who am I ?

As I'm applying for a very high position on one our server, I guess that speaking about me and my story here comes first. For those who don't know who I am, or do not interact with me enough, I'm Chienman, I'm 26 years old and I live in France. I discovered Zarp late March this year by randomly playing Gmod and connecting to our TTT server.

I was amazed at the number of players there were. But more importantly, what was awesome in my eyes was the fact that FOR ONCE, I found a server were rules were enforced. Unlike all servers and "communities" I came across before, people seemed nice and mature enough for me to enjoy my stay. After spending some time playing daily on it, I started feeling myself at home, and then decided to contribute to what I enjoyed so much about the server : a serious but friendly staff.

That's how I became a moderator in April. Then, I was trained by Johnler, one of our ex HA, today a administrator after his resignation on his former rank. This guy impressed me. The training was long, full of advices and hints on how to make the server a fun place to be for everyone. He taught me to enforce rules, while always remain friendly and comprehensive towards everyone. Becoming a administrator within the same month, I was this time trained by Raeker.

These two staff member "created" me. I have a lot of admiration for both of them, as I was amazed on how they could be professionnal, available and kind at the same time. I guess today, being a lead team member and applying for Head Administrator, I follow in their footsteps.

Why am I applying for such a position ?

The most simple answer I could give is the following : I love Zarp, TTT, and our staff team. I know that sounds a bit cheesy, or childish. But that is the truth. I have been around for 8 months now, and Zarp, while I was unemployed (yeah, that sucks) gave me the opportunity to, at least, be useful to a few persons by contributing to make the server enjoyable for everyone, and keep us a favorite among the Gmod community. The has always filled me with pride. But that also made me meet a lot of good people, and experience good and bad situations.

It would be an incredible honour, today, to achieve such an important position. Head Admins, in my opinion, represent the server and Zarp as a whole in a way. Their influence is very strong, and the image they show to users and the rest of the staff and lead team is essential. That's why today, after having shown and demonstrated my fondness and my dedication, I am willing to be promoted to Head Admin, and contribute to that image.

But how can I contribute ?

Once again, Head Admins are important figures of the server. Already being part of the LT, I need, of course, to demontrate how promoting me would be beneficial for everyone. In brief, this what I have to offer :
My willingness to help :

Being genuinely friendly, honest and helpful, I know that my personnality traits are fit for such a position. Other than showing my presence on the server and the forums, I spend time daily to answer to questions and doubts. May it be both in-game or steamchat, I was surprised these past weeks to be asked so many questions. Bein part of the Lead Team already, that is of course natural. But I can assure you that I always do my best to answer them, and help everyone. I do that because I like that. That is also some of sort of pride for me. But anyway, as I'm a Super Admin, I believe that ismandatory for my position.

Also, and as I'm becoming more and more know within TTT, I'm sure that my personnality and my willingness to help and chat in all circumstances help our users feel at home, just like I felt when I discovered Zarp. That is not always easy, as our role is also to enforce rules. But I always been aware, since the first day of being a staff member, that users, just like the staff, contribute highly into making our server ALIVE (thank you for teaching me that at the beginning Johnler, from the bottom of my heart).

My patience :

Being older does not only have drawbacks, am I right ? Those who know me and interact with me know how much I am patient to everyone. That trait helps me a lot for staffing or intervening on our forums. As I, once again, am aware that we need users, I'm never harsh with my punishments. Those who know me can tell how patient I am, by always trying to give verbal warrns to people, and tell them what they did wrong, instead of punishing for the sake of punishing. As a Super Admin, willing to become Head Admin, showing the right path to both users and staff members is essential in my eyes. That's why I show so much patience and fairness to anyone, even if our job is quite difficult.

My seriousness :

While I enjoy goofing around with my colleagues and users to share some fun, I am always extremely serious when it comes to staffing and helping others. The prime example would be when I train people : most of my trainings last one good hour. Why ? Because I want people to be trained as well as I was for my ranks. Our job is important, but sometimes difficult. We need dedicated and good staff members to keep us a favorite amongst TTT server. As trainings are for me the very beginning of a staff member "life", we have to do them right, take all the time we need. That way, we make sure that we recruit a good staff member, while building a strong and positive relationship within the whole staff team.

I am also very serious when it comes to staffing, and I know that has surprised some, when you compare this to my kindness. However, I am well too aware that being a Lead Team member sometimes leads to difficult decisions and actions. Rules remain rules. it is our job to enforce them, even if it annoys some players.
I can easily demonstrate my dedication to anyone who would ask. In a few days, I will have been a Super Administrator for 4 months, on top of having been a staff member on TTT for 8 months. Even tho I have applied for Prophunt (na dbeing promoted, woohoo), TTT has always been, and will always remain my top priority on Zarp. During these 8 months, I have made only 3 inactivity topics. One of them being when I lost my job, my home and my GF withing the same week (that my 2017 loser week), one could tell that I have showed my dedication for TTT.

I'm working hard to make sure that I'm present every day on TTT and TS. In that case, I'm not afraid to say that I'm currently the most active Super Admin in TTT. Even when I don't play, I am always willing to chat with staff members and users, to take some news or check the state of the server, and make sure that everything goes well.

To that extent, I have also always tried my hardest to handle as many reports as possible, both IG and on the forums, while demonstrating a serious and kind attitude to everyone, so that everyone can have a proper image of the Lead Team.


Once again, I have been a Super Admin for 4 months now. During that time, I have encountered a lot of situations. I have seen people enter the staff team, I have seen others resigning or revoking the latters, I have seen abuses and fights between members among themselves or with users.

I am convinced that this experience is another point to make me a strong candidate for the position of HA. Each time I have helped in such a situation, I have always done it in a calm and mature way. That has helped me to be, today, a very confidence SA that treats everyone (both staff and users) equally, while never panicking when problems arise.

Whether I get accepted or not, and just like last time when I got promoted to SA, I wanted to say that I am proud to be part of the staff team. I feel at home with you people. Wether I am a SA or HA, I promise to keep doing my best for the server, and Zarp.

Chienman, first Raeker and then You are the people i instantly knew they had a great character and would make great LT members. I trained Raeker and you as good as i could when you guys first became staff on TTT, because i wanted you to get LT asap. When Raeker got LT, i gave him many tips because i trusted him to take my spot after i resign. Right before i resign i talked with Raeker in a spacer and told him: "The next week fight and get Chienman in the Lead Team by any means by any means necessary." Thank god he listened to me. Now i believe you have proven that you are the kind of guy who is to be trusted and you definitely deserve HA in my eyes. Thank you for all these comments about me and Raeker in your app. I am not bragging that i am/was the best Staff member ever, but if you really have my Positives and Raeker's Positives, then you are or will be a staff member me and i bet Raeker, always wanted to be.

Keep doing what you are doing Chienman. If i was a HA now, i would not let you get Denied this Sunday. Hope the current HA team believe the same.

I would have never been Super Admin without Raeker and you. Sure I had the potential, but I was just not confident enough at first. Your training was perfect, I was full of enthusiasm and ready to contribute in making the server the best TTT server. Today, I still possess that spirit, thanks to you ^^
