I've been helping Nafe on optimizing the map as much as possible in the short time we've been given to release a fixed patch. The map is not fully optimized but there is some improvement as compared to the old version. The only area that I'm not 100% happy with is the whole of spawn, it's underperforming regardless of my optimization attempts - Since it's a huge district with lots of brushes and props, and it's quite open, so everything is generating at once. Everything else seems to be good. I'm getting as low as 40 and as high as 100 at spawn (compared to the low 30s and high 50s). As for all the other parts of the map I'm getting no lower than 80 and up to 200 FPS as compared to the previous average of ~70 FPS.
This test was performed on my laptop - 4 cores at 2.3 Ghz (fixed) - If I unlock it I'll be getting at least x1.5 if not x2 the performance (the reason I keep the frequency locked is because it's a laptop so because of temperature, otherwise it will auto clock up to 4.5 Ghz and make my laptop a nuclear reactor).
I've also went ahead and changed the skybox texture as well as the lightning properties and parameters to give the map a more better and lively look.
Furthermore I spent a couple of minutes redesigning the spawn area before compiling the map.
The map has been successfully compiled and is ready for testing tonight, and hopefully deployment tomorrow evening.
