My Workout session(s)/challenge. 8 years 2 months ago #433901

Today(18th november) i'm starting to do Push-ups and sit-ups for A month.
Push-ups per day (100)
Sit-ups Per day (50).

and the Weight loss Program i have is.
To run/Jog for 2 hours per day and
eat healthy food and not junk food.

Yeah i'd recommend to take it slow towards the beginning, cut down the push ups (unless you are doing throughout the day its fine) but if you're going to do it in one sitting might be a bit hard. Also a 2 hour jog/run seem excessive maybe 2 miles.

Not trying to judge just giving my recommendations!

If you're just starting out do 1 push up and 1 situp a day then the next day 2 and 2, third day 3 and 3 and so on.

Yeah man, like Sally said you should go slow like I did and most likely what Para did. If you're overweight go +1 pushups and siitups a day. If you are skinny go for +3 a day. Do not push yourself at the beginning, it will lead to muscle injuries. Anyways good luck and welcome to the body transformation group! :3

Just doing pushups and sit ups isn't enough to develop your entire body.
Sit ups is abs and obliques
Pushup is bicep triceps and chest
Do pull ups as well because people who don't do back and just the front of the upper body end up with weird posture and stances.
Honestly I don't like calisthenics because if you can't do pull ups or pushup or one of then it gets harder and harder to find improvement in that area if you want to do calisthenics I honestly suggest working out with weights first so you can build the strength to do all of the calisthenics movements then continue from there.

You should start slowly first like Sally said maybe 2 first day 3 next day etc.

I was doing squat challenges and sit ups but got tired of them tbh XD

100 pushups a day seems like a big start. Situps is easy tho you should be able to do more than 50.

I wish you luck on your exercise it is good to do it during winter time as you use more fat to keep your body warm but I don't recommend starting so high 2 hours will take you over 1.5 - 2 miles depending on your pace, since I do sports at college I roughly run 1.5 miles in around 10 - 15 minutes but 2 hours will not be a great start aim a little lower to run 1500 metres I recommend. But it is up to you once again good luck and I hope you reach your goals :D

Just saying, if you're not used to working out or overweight this is going to be one hell of a start. I think you should tone it down a bit. Even if you're not overweight and simply out of shape this isn't going to be easy and may lead to injuries. Should you be overweight I would also advise against running as your knees will be taking some serious weight and that may lead to injury.

Running and jogging for two hours is also a very long amount of time to run, I'd advise trying to run 1.5 miles at your own pace once you're weight is average and then gradually improving your time and distance. If you just throw yourself into stuff like this it'll lead to more frustration than satisfaction and you'll come out of it disappointing with no real results.
