TOPIC: Future of FP: Zarp Merge

Out with the old in with the new.. Friendly Players was a great community back in the day but that time has come and gone. Will the reboot even work at this point? Maybe. Zarp is massive and only getting bigger and better every day that passes. In my mind the split between the two communities isn't profitable for Chute, EMP, and the rest of the devs or worth their time and effort anymore; with only one server in the community getting any sort of attention. Something we were always told was that a merge would never happen, but in my opinion that's one of the best options available right now.

Take the second Zarp DarkRP server - or even a create a third if the capability to do so is there, and put the new reboot gamemode on that server. Transitioning all of our man-power (remaining staff and players) to Zarp - with some sort of appropriate rank for staff still around and special recognition for players transitioning (teamspeak icons, forums ranks) - and focusing on improving and maintaining that community makes a lot more sense to me than remaining divided like we are now.

I loved Friendly Players, and the people who have been here longer than me most definitely feel even stronger than I do about it, and we're just sitting here as it dies. Let's do something about it.

Why are we continuing to separate ourselves from Zarp? It's illogical and unnecessary to split our resources the way we are now. It's time to bring together two of the best and most successful communities in Garry's Mod history.

Eugh, I don't know how this would work. In practicality all you are proposing is that we get rid of the FP name and just call it zarp but have different stuff in it. This would confuse players in my eyes and it would be inpracticle to merge the servers (have the same cash on all servers due to economy being different and different items being able to be bought). You would get strays from mainstream zarp coming on but they would only get confused and go back to server 1 or 2 in my honest opinion, if I have missed the point of this then sorry!

However I hope this does work out as it would be nice for both FP and ZARP to be popular and alive.

The third server may not even be necessary, as Exrobite said all Zarp DarkRP servers could be updated with the new reboot gamemode.

You want all the staff on the servers on there to get a fair rank on here, which in my eyes is a horrible idea because one, they don't know the rules, two, they're being thrown into a sea they haven't swam in before.

And as if we haven't had members of either communities come and administrate effectively on the other one's servers already? The rules aren't something that take a ridiculous amount of time to learn. If someone couldn't handle learning the different rules then they aren't really fit to be staff anyway.
