Sup guys.
There was a thread ages ago where people went to tell everyone about their favorite anime. However, as I don't feel like Necroposting just yet, and because I wanted to see if any opinions changed (and of course if any of the newblets here watch anime), I've decided to "re-open" the thread.
Also, please keep an open mind on this thread. Only hate on people that can't explain why they like a certain anime (like, actual good reasons other than "its funny" or "because it has action".
Also, please keep in mind:
It'd be amazing if you could list up to 5 of your favorite anime, and why you like them so much.
As for my favorite anime, my top 5 would be
- Bakemonogatari
For it's complex story and interesting arcs that keep you at the edge of your seat, wondering how the problem will be solved and what will happen to the main character(s) of the arc, accompanied by beautiful visuals and audio cues that change depending on the characters or situations.
- Durarara!!
For the interesting characters and multiple small stories that all make up the big stories. With it's only problem being the slow start, this anime excels pretty well in everything else, especially considering it's from 2010, which was a pretty bad year for anime.
- Katanagatari
For the life lessons it gives you while following the two main characters on their journey to collect 12 special swords. The chemistry between the two main characters is very good and they are a lot of fun to watch.
That epic ending though
Mushishi
Similar to Katanagatari, this anime gives you a life lesson every episode. However, unlike Katanagatari, which has 12 episodes, Mushishi currently has 45, with each episodes showing a completely new story following Ginko, a Mushi-shi.
Parasyte: the Maxim
In this anime, you follow a boy who almost gets taken over by a Parasyte, alien-like creatures that take over human brains and try to invade the society to secure food sources (humans). You follow Izumi as he slowly starts getting more and more involved with the dangerous parasites, where it's not just him that's in danger, but his family, friends and others. Also, did I tell you that this is an adaptation from a manga that was made 20 years ago? Yeah, let that sink in.
That's it for my list. If you have more questions about my Top 5, feel free to ask them. I'd like to hear yours too.
