TOPIC: Malware going around Steam Comments on Profiles.

So I just found out that there is a massive amount of Malware infected links on comments, on profiles such as mine. I got 3 of them, which is weird. I know I resigned, just came to warn you guys.

Here is the comment. Be aware:



Be careful.

Report to Valve, block the user and delete the comment.
Nothing new, this been going on for ages.

These messages are getting ridiculous anti virus companies and valve need to set up their game, but thanks for the information Scorpion.

Honestly I don't know why every time someone gets a phishing link they post it here, it's common sense not to click suspicious / unknown links and download suspicious / unknown files.

I know that it's kind of obvious, but still, anyone can be stupid enough to copy and paste it...

To be fair if they're dumb enough to fall for it they deserve to lose their account.^{And yes it has happened to me so I know how it feels.}

I think this is more a virus. When you have clicked the link once, more will appear.

Steam's DDOS protection is the best from what I know, but their Malware protection or whatever you want to call it isn't.

Why would the anti virus company do something? This isn't a virus, this is a EXE that uses your account by grabbing your steam_api.dll , steam ssfn files. They do that because when normal hacking, the hacker some times need to wait 14 days to trade due to steam guard. So some guy, made this in the idea of not waiting for steam guard cooldown, so in short
-You downloaded the EXE
-You Execute it
-It grabs your steam_api.dll & ssfn files
-It commands the files to send a trade offer of all your steam items
-Items go to the hackers alts then the alts send to his main, then he sells the items and makes loads of money

Those files are very important, they can be used to control any part of your steam. Just not change passwords.

-Keylogger
-Virus

Just a simple coded exe grabber and modifier. Hope you learnt something new today, have a nice day.

The hacker/Idiot has loads of money, he's making new sites everyday. So beware everyone.
Reporting the bots won't help.

I really hat it and there account try to add you on steam and your like um do i know this person it gets in the way of making friends on steam because you dont know who to add and who not to add. the comment are really stupid to like who will ever click on that link its just UG i want to punch them in the Dick and watch them cry when I skin there first born child.
