Watched an interesting documentary on the issue of guns and school shootings a while ago. It can be summarised to "everyone is killing each other because of fear". Pretty sure the documentary was called Bowling for Columbine.
Guns themselves aren't the root of the problem, however getting rid of them / making them harder for people to get their hands on would probably lessen the amount of shootings, though people would inevitably find other ways.

If everyone had guns to defend themselves we wouldn't have shootings O:

First off, You thot, If we get rid of guns, Do you really think Criminals would give them up? Also, If someone did try shooting a school and people had guns we could easily stop them, However with no guns more people would die.
