Hi euan,

I've already explained this in DMs but I just wanted to include my message here so that the wider community can understand the thought process behind the demotion to moderator a little more:

I personally voted for a demotion to moderator given that I felt an official warning wasn’t enough however that he should be given some degree of leniency based on the fact that, without being approached about it, he went and apologised and clearly felt incredibly bad about what he’d done, and has done a very good job ad a staff member. I was between a full demotion and a demotion to moderator but given his time as a staff member recently and the fact that he did clearly show a lot of remorse, a demotion to moderator was a fair punishment.

If anyone else has any questions or concerns regarding the decision, feel free to contact any member of the SSRP Lead Team or the Community Team and we will be more than happy to explain!

Trust me, he doesn't regret it one bit the amount of times he said the n word with the hard r in discord calls is absurd.

Being called the hard R is less of a problem than the N word. Eventhough it is both a issue, but also depending on the situation; Mostly the person who reports someone for calling you the hard r mostly uses it by themselves

I mean seeing as he was also drunk personally I won't throw all the blame on him as this has happened several times in this community where someone is drunk and slips something out. Still doesn't make it right but JMT is so fair I think the only one who's had action taken against him. JMT is currently somehow the only competent staff member and most active. Losing him at this moment. I cannot name a single staff member that has dealt with an F1 of mine.

This is the current SSRP staff team in which most are inactive right now or just don't play.

Yes and No,

JMT Only started to be active recently on working on his f1 count on the moment he revoked his SA Application, and ever since that moment he got active, but the rest of the months he was like smeagol stuck in a cave

Its a word. Nothing more than vocal vibrations through your headphones. Stop giving the word power and it loses all meaning you muppets. Same with a swastika, if you stop looking at it as a symbol of hated POOF its no longer a symbol of hate to you. Don't get me wrong, understand the history behind some words/symbols but stop giving them power and meaning and believe it or not it loses all power and meaning. Its a really simple concept that people just can't fucking grasp and it blows my mind how people still get so upset over stuff like this. Put the same time and energy you use being offended into learning how not to be offended over something that is literally harmless.

Don't even know who im aiming this at, just had to say it. But nah JMT shouldn't be fully demoted, hell even to mod. I remember the reasonings back in the day when someone fucked up was they have put x amount of time and dedication into staffing therefore they are getting a much lesser punishment... Well if we're using that logic, how is removing the rank of someone on a gmod server going to stop them from being racist? It's the fact that this was the punishment voted on during the Lead Team Meeting for his actions. Sure it's about resolving the issue partly, but that's something JMT has to figure out on his own. We can't make JMT stop being racist on zarp, but what the punishment is doing is showing him that he is wrong for what he did. The demotion is the reprocussion for his racist actions.
well i mean its pretty simple somone saying something like he did they would think they are more superior to the other race as its a demeaning term, so why on earth would they allow them any sort of power at all, if it was to fix things no power should be given to that said person lmao, cause it would seem and make him think hes right by just giving him a slap on the wrist and this isnt just aimed at jmt but for anyone that would think that way. [also i know jmt aint a racist just using all these to prove a point]

A lot of words to say you support ppl who are racist

Sigh, if I had a penny every time I heard this. You can hold this opinion with other ones. I thought people were smart enough to understand otherwise but I guess not. I can't be fucked to go into it fully but heres a brief rundown - I think people who genuinely hate another person based on colour/sexual preference/pronouns/etc are fucking retards, judge people based on morals and opinions, no one should have time nor energy for hatred towards each other even more so for such silly reasons. This at no point contradicts my previous opinion of removing the power of a word or symbol.
