I just realized something. Why is it that he only got demoted yet had no other punishments. If a user that didn't hold any staff ranks ignored doxxing what would be the consequences? I know there are different expectations from staff members but I believe that given the uniqueness and rarity of the situation a full demotion is not the proper way to go about this. I was the only staff member that responded to it, but other users did so idk.

I am not the kind to be hating on the leadteam.
But this seems like such a unique situation, that I think a talking to, to make sure he knows what to do in the given situation, would've been more than enough.
I mean what if a staffmember were afk in the channel where a person is ddox threatening others? Would they be punished the same way?
Cuz if that's the case, the staffteam better check the entire chat history everytime they come back from being afk, or it would seem like it's demotion worthy.
This guy actually seems to be very happy to help out, so why not help him and explain stuff to him instead of getting rid of him? I honestly don't get it.

CEO was well aware of the doxxing occurring, otherwise, of course he would not have been demoted. We found that he had replied directly to the messages involving doxxing, so there was absolutely no doubt in this case that he was witnessing this and neglecting to report it.

For those who are saying "nothing would have come from CEO reporting it", you are unfortunately proven wrong by the fact that another player was Community Banned as a result of this once it was reported. CEO had been aware of the doxxing happening in this Discord for 1.5-2 weeks before his demotion.

If doxxing is reported, we can do our best to help out the user affected and do our best to keep them and their information safe, when staff members and users neglect to report it, then there is nothing we can do to a) find out where the dox originated from b) put a stop to it and c) if the user is cm banned already, know what they have been up to. Not reporting it prevents the appropriate action from being taken, which directly allows the situations to occur. It is disgusting behaviour and not something we tolerate in this community, least of all on our staff team.

Very cool and all but who takes the demotion decisions?

Pretty much every demotion gets voted on in the weekly lead team meetings. Super Administrators+ get to bring up and vote on demotions for Admins and Moderators. Head Administrators+ get to bring up and vote on demotions for Super Administrators and other Head Administrators. The voting options for demotions on Admins and Moderators are "No Action", "Official Warning", "Demotion to a lower rank" and "Full Demotion". Everyone's vote is equal, the majority wins. If you have any more questions about our demotion process, make sure to check out our demotions policy. CEO's demotion was discussed and democratically voted on by the attendees of the lead team meeting on the 10th of October.

First they say that some other admins have a problem with the way you handle things, but they fail to give names or to go even more in-depth on the whole situation.
Now you make a mistake of not reporting something, you get a full demotion after all the time and effort you committed to the server. Why even bother appealing this if the staff team will look for any minuscule thing they can find against you to make sure you cannot hold a rank.

I guess merits go out the window when mistakes in judgement are made nowadays

Hey CEO of Business,

After looking into you appeal and thoroughly discussing it in this weeks lead team meeting we've decided not to revoke your demotion. Last week we got reports about (multiple) acts of doxxing in a discord server related to our community. When we investigated these reports further we found that you, among other players, directly responded to at least one of those messages that, at the time, was posted two and a half weeks ago. When we confronted you about it shortly before the meeting you initially claimed that you didn't know anything about these messages. Once we showed you proof of you directly responding to said messages you claimed that you were at school and didn't have time to report the doxxing to us even though you had over two weeks to let us know about it. As a staff member you are expected to report situations like these as soon as possible so we can take action - even if someone claims to already have reported it or the person doing the doxxing is already community banned. If you want to get back into the staff team you need to re-apply and show us that you can be trusted again.

Your demotion will not be revoked.
