The Community Council meeting was completed tonight with the following members: Chuteuk, TheXnator, Martin, OnionRings, Nay, LukiGuki, ToBeHonest. Niko and Mix3rz. We have discussed and decided upon the future of the Community Council and the role that it will play going forward.
New Policy:
As part of our plans for the end of 2020 going into 2021, the Community Team have decided to revamp the Community Council to better align with what we feel is necessary for the community, what we have heard from users and the original plans laid forward at the initial introduction of the Community Council.
The new Community Council policy is as follows:
Community Council
The Community Council works closely with the Community Team, staff teams and users, with the main purpose of carrying out specific tasks and serving as a point of communication between members of different ranks. For any questions regarding policies, community management or general queries that should be brought to the attention of the Community Team, the Community Council are the people to go to.
The Community Council gain no extra powers ingame. They should aim to always attend the Community Council meeting as scheduled in the ZARP meeting schedule in accordance with all relevant meeting rules as defined in the Meeting Rules policy.
Community Council Roles
Each member of the Community Council is expected to decide on their own role, which should be considered by existing Community Council members when accepting new members. New members should outline in detail the role that they wish to take on and how they will fulfil it on their applications.
Every week, Community Council members should carry out their tasks and be prepared to give a summary of what they have been doing throughout the week at the weekly Community Council meetings.
Community Council Selection
Any member of the community is eligible to apply for the Community Council. This will take place through an application system. All current members of the Community Council are eligible to vote on applications in the weekly Community Council meeting in accordance with the Meeting Rules.
Members applying for the Community Council are expected to have outlined their own roles as covered above. When voting, Community Council members should consider the role outlined by the applicant and whether the role is necessary.
There is no limit on the number of people that may be part of the Community Council.
Community Council Meeting
The Community Council meeting is governed by the Meeting Rules as follows:
This meeting is separate to all server meetings and may include non-binding votes and discussions on any topics approved by the Community Team. The purpose of this meeting is discussion rather than voting, including the discussion of the roles carried out by Community Council members throughout the week. Refer to the non-application meetings and server meetings sections.
- Members of the Community Council and Community Team only are eligible to participate in this meeting.
- The Community Council meeting cannot take place unless 3 eligible members or 50% of all eligible members are in attendance, or 50% when there are less than 4 eligible members.

The main changes to the Community Council mean that suggestions will no longer be handled in the Community Council meeitng. These will now be handled in the server meetings at the discretion of the relevant Server Owners. Instead, Community Council members will now have their own tasks which have been decided on by each member themselves, and will aim to help the community in various ways.
Current Roles:
In the Community Council meeting tonight, these changes were outlined in detail to members of the Community Council and each member picked a task for themselves. The current roles are as follows:
Mix3rz: Map development - Working with EMP, CM Team and Server Owners on map development, plans and improvements
Niko: Deathrun - Working on the Deathrun server to increase playerbase, taking initiative to work on the server as a whole to bring it to a more desirable state
Martin: (Community Developer) - providing assistance to other members of the Community Council where necessary and carrying out any code-related work as required
OnionRings: Event coordinator - Carrying out events on a consistent, regular basis, coming up with new event ideas, coordinating others to do events and ensuring the correct steps are taken when carrying out events
Luki Guki: Weekly Community Events - Will run events/competitions each week to try and engage the whole community.
Nay: TTT organisation and seasonal events - Seasonal/consistent events, updates, etc alongside TTT Server Owner duties
ToBeHonest: SSRP Bug List Maintainer - Will maintain a public bug list for SSRP and keep it up to date with bugs reported across the community.
Application Changes:
As each member of the Community Council is expected to come up with a role for themselves which they feel will benefit the community, the applications will change to reflect this, with a new question added in which the applicant can outline the role they wish to perform, including how they will carry it out and why it will be beneficial to the community.
Future applicants will be voted on with the main point of consideration being their role, including whether or not the role is necessary and helpful and how well the applicant seems to be able to carry out the role. Applications will stay permanently open as before.
