[TTT] Concerns of recent behavior
For a good couple of weeks now I've gotten contacted from upset staff and lead team members and witnessed some things myself that I feel aren't fair or not quite right. Since I cannot really do much of anything about this I've decided to point some of these things out here.
If you've made a decision on a matter and gone through with it in the meeting at least have it be a "justifiable and fair reason" by thinking things through so you can explain/defend your actions. I'm saying this because people have been ignored on multiple occasions when they've confronted Head Administrators on a given subject or answered with a struggling/unsure/apprehensive response, this includes topics that aren't meeting related as well.
An applicant who have reached out to Lead Team members has been told to "stand out more" without a proper explanation of what it is they’re missing or not doing, that their report count should be higher when it’s already high enough, or that they should train moderators.
I do not believe report count should matter much, especially if it’s already consistently high and amongst the top. All that really matters is that they handle them well and do a decent amount. As a Lead Team member you do not have to handle reports in-game, rather you need the knowledge of how to handle situations so you can help the lower ranked staff members who’re having trouble handling reports, etc.
Denying someone for not standing out enough is fine, but when they reach out to you, you have to explain why they’re not standing out so the applicant knows what they can do better and what to improve on instead of leaving them in the dust. You should have a
set of ideals that you look for in an applicant so you know what they’re doing right and what they’re doing wrong.
Training moderators under the supervision is apparently basically “not allowed anymore” because I've been informed that it shouldn’t be used as gauge to see if someone is ready for the position of Super Administrator or to do the training's instead of the Lead Team member(s) who's supposed to, which doesn't seem to leave out any reason for an administrator to train at all.
I cannot confirm everything that I’ve been told so I've decided to leave a lot out, but from what I can confirm (which is a good hand full of the situations) it is a little concerning behavior nonetheless so I thought I’d at least bring some awareness to these issues and hope to maybe see a little bit of change for the better, Lead Team members should be more helpful and clear with these kinds of situations, instead of trying to avoid the subjects at hand.
