What happens is you get sent a link. If you're stupid (like me) you'll click it. then log in via "steam"
but it's not steam
it's a phishing page that looks exactly like steam
you login as if it was steam. as soon as you put in your mobile authenticator code it has a automated system that logs into your account, changes email, removes authenticator, changes password. within a second.

I done the same thing, Now theres some like indian fake tech support sending links to his csgo scam website

same happend to me, you sent steam support shit proving it's you? go through g2a or cdkeys emails and look at the cd keys then sent you that you used on the account, give steam support them and you should be gucci.
or through paypal/credit card etc.

Sent them my recovery key I got like when I made the account and stuff and sent that to em, Hopefully that should be good enough

There is a reason why it's called a recovery key

Also, my account has been without 2FA since 2012 and never been yoink'd, it's entirely the user's fault.

If you are already logged into steam on a browser/steam in-game browser, it doesn't request an authentication code, however, if you are not, it will ask for an authentication code

I totally did not get a message about a promo code and a site to CSGO from you. Your account wasn't locked it somebody sent the message at 22:22. You may want to recheck that it is locked if you posted this like 2 and 1/2 hours ago and I got the message just an hour and 6 minutes ago.

EDIT: I have been trying to think of a project to work around this problem when it comes to scam sites but it will take a while to develop. Hopefully it works when I start to work on the actual development of the software but it might take a few months or years.

2: I am not fooled by links to any games giving free items/skins/currencies whatever.
3. It has happened too many times to my friends and it needs to stop (My idea to make this software was to stop scam sites).
