If it is a tehnical problem you don't need to resign let the lead team know what is going on and it will all be ok, bananaslanger is taking a long break as he is on holidays and is unable to play and he still has his position. My suggestion is keep your position if you like being a mod and just let the lead team know you have problems with your PC.
Note: if you need any help with fixing your pc i will be happy to help you out.
