Go out of your way to help staff members- also try to communicate with the lead team and establish that you're a strong leader etc, try your best to settle staff-on-staff situations as long as it's reasonable; don't handle situation yourself tho, just settle it until a lead team member is available and overall just prove that you can handle difficult situations and that you know your limits in those situations. A lot of general experience is necessary too, but that comes with time (that's not to say there's a set time after which you can apply. When you're ready, you're ready)

No but seriously i believe you quite a decent candidate for SA if you are thinking of going for it. But if you stay as you are now in a while when you feel like you're ready I'd say go for it.
