How to handle punishments for scammers
In the event of a scam taking place (refer to the SSRP Rules Section 10.0) a staff member should first approach the user and investigate the situation. If they are unable to clearly prove that a scam has taken place they should refer the situation to a Lead Team member to further investigate. The Lead Team member will contact a CM or higher to check the logs. Once they are certain a scam has taken place they should tell the user to immediately give back any scammed money/items. If they refuse to do so they should be warned that they will be permanently banned if they don't comply. After a warning; if they still refuse to hand back the money/items the user should be permanently banned with a reason making it clear that they will be unbanned if they agree to hand back the money/items in question. If the user then appeals or simply asks the banning admin that they will now hand back the money/items then they should be unbanned from the server. It is adviced to save a picture of what the user owes and to who or to add it to the ban reason e.g. "Scamming (owes 10 mil to Raeker(STEAM_0:0:58124960)" Booster Packs/VIP In most cases scamming will be avoided by using the Middleman services (zarpgaming.com/index.php/forum/darkrp/70...p-middleman-services). However if a scam does take place the scamming user should be permanently banned. A lead team member will be required to investigate the situation in most cases. |
