You must have either dissoncedted/timed out affter the servers map changed. Otherwise the server would have issued you a refund. During a map change you should always stay connected to the server, otherwise you run the risk of having your refunds cleared. Since you do not have any proof of the refund system not working, I'll have to assume it was because you rejoined and dissconnected without claiming your printers.
