Server Name: SSRP

Suggestion Title: Allow staff on duty the police scanner

How would it benefit the server: This will benifit moderators more than admins. If there is a big base that is supposidly "building" They can easily check if there are any printers. Also if you are a admin and you are noclipping if you wanted to check for printers you may have to go through people alerting there is a admin or just annoying in general.

Potential Issues/Exploits: Could be abused.

you make it so only moderator on duty spawns in with it (witch is possible)

This wouldn't necessarily work as well as just cloaking and no clipping because if you dont hit the entity or close to it you wont scan it

No, it wouldn't, but if you were a mod and you were wondering if someone was building and printing, wouldn't this be a lot easier than trying to tp into the building?

Well if you give moderator on duty you'd be as well giving it to admin on duty.

If it was coded properly in the way that it made no noise, didn't interfere with the auto want system, and that it displayed in chat the entities found in the base, it could prove a handy tool to help out staff. On the other hand, it would cause for so much abuse and thinking for solutions to the abuse would be difficult, it just doesn't sound likes its worth the risk.

Call it a "Admin scanner" just coded, like Fen said, to not make them wanted, and maybe no sound if possible.

I can only agree with this if there is no noise, players don't get wanted, and it shows up in chat the entity's that are in the base. But if these aspects were implemented then it would make a mods life much easier.

Honestly, whats the likely-hood of admins abusing this, if they are a admin on duty? I understand they CAN abuse it, but its a low chance they actually will.

If its only for the mod on duty job, then this would be very useful because as a moderator, i almost never check building bases because its hard to get through to check for raidables, this would mean that rulebreakers would be punished easily if not abused.

I understand what you're trying to get at here by saying that, but something you have to understand is that it's a staff member's duty to ensure the players aren't violating the policy with RP Houses/Building signs if the base in question is under suspicion. If someone makes an F1 requesting that staff member to check a base, then they'll be obligated to check it.

Now, the point I'm trying to make here is that this will do more help than harm.. In fact, there is literally no way it could be more harmful than abruptly TPing into someone's base and potentially disrupting RP. As long as the scanner is tailored specifically for the use of the staff on the server and the new moderators are properly trained on how to use it, then it will certainly be a great addition.

We must take into consideration that EVERY power that the staff team is granted, regardless of rank, has the potential to be abused in some form or fashion. Work together as a TEAM, and coordinate with each other, the chances of it being abused will be slim.
