Suggestion Title:Private chat box

How would it benefit the server:I just started thinking about this just now. That having a private chat box here on the forums would make it easier for other people to get in touch with forum staff members if somebody makes a post breaking the TOU, or if they found a mistake on somebodys thread, and they just wanna let the person know about it. Also people could become friends if they started chatting on here. To me there is way more positives to this than negatives.

Potential Issues/Exploits:It could be used for spamming. But that could be fixed with some kind of chat spammer. So you cant send over 10 messages on like 10 seconds or so.. Maybe less

This sounds like a great idea, It would benefit us so much.
It would allow players to keep in contact if they're not friends on steam and give the chance for people to make new friends

Wasnt this brought up by a user? Kunena chat or something like that but since that one got denied i dont think this one will be accepted. I dont see a big need for it anyway since everyone on here has a steam account

I think this would be a great idea which would make contacting staff a lot easier as Keith has already mentioned. Also, it would provide a way for users to chat to each other without going on steam or TS. Overall a great idea.

Let's be honest here, how would a chat box on the forums make anything easier to handle. The whole reason problems are not dealt with on the forums is the fact that people don't look at it, and when they do it's usually in intervals of at least half an hour. Adding a chat box would cause an influx of messages towards a staff member to be dealt with at any given time, to then be later postponed by another 30 minute interval. And how would we notify the staff members of the message, would you add a sound? If so, would there be a way to mute it as personally, among with as I imagine, many others, we don't want our ears to be constantly ringing from incompetent trolls spamming. If this idea is to work it would require a large amount of refining and work which could be better diverted to more resourceful and beneficial areas as personally, I have not seen that many problems/complaints with the forums and the way the staff manages it.

Well Joker i am not talking about any specific chat here. Possibly a chat that the owners could code themselves.. Either way i think its nice that we agree. It just shows that more people want it. I am gonna try my best to get this added

I really like the idea, especially if this was something you could find under the "Help" tab on the left side of the forums. From there you could easily view all online forum staff, and at the click of the button open up a private chat with said staff to quickly handle your problem.

Of course with anything, the issue of spam is always there like anything else like this. This could easily be sorted out with a spam filter, not to mention the person they're asking for help from is a forum staff and it could easily be dealt with.

Make it so you can only privately message forum staff / server staff, and I'll be fine with it.

EMP put this on the last thread suggestion for a chat box:So I question what he will put on this topic as it it presented differently and has more potential as it has a private aspect to it allowing for quicker responses to posts breaking TOU and anybody that might need help.
Regardless this is an interesting suggestion in the way it is presented and i'd like to see how it turns out.
