Server Name: Both DarkRp servers.

Suggestion Title: Fix up the rule job abuse.

How would it benefit the server:
Well as a moderator, i need to know the rules, but i've just stumbled on a little problem,
the rule: Job Abuse.
So my problem is, one person is saying, job abuse is when you change back in between 5 minutes its job abuse and the other person says 10 minutes...

Example from Gmod Troller, he says:


And Tigz said the same day that it would be job abuse if you change in 5 minutes,

so what im asking is, can you please put a number so i can follow it? because 5 and 10 is a diffrence...

Potential Issues/Exploits: Nobody can exploit this. because currently i see people change from cop to citizen to gangster to a drug dealer in less than 5 minutes..
fix up a timer or something like that.

Additional notes: By fixing this, the darkrp server rules can improve.

It would make the adminge look at the timestamps more closely, but also, what would the admin do you choose a job that you didn't want by accident, and they warn you for Job Abuse because you switched jobs within 10 seconds?
JS, but admins would need to know the difference.

Well i hope you readed the thread from paramontana, but 4 people got a warning because a hit was placed and they all changed job to get the hit, all of them got a warning from job abuse..

Edit:
Or people should stop giving these warnings.
Job abuse is lets say, a cop helping a gangster,
gun dealer spawning in guns for himself and not giving to others (self supply)

like these..

i actually also think, you can change job whenever you want..

I saw that, and that is totally fine, I'm just saying admins will need to tell the difference from an accident from Job Abuse.

Wouldn't it just be easier to set a timer after a hit was placed to 5 or 10 minutes so nobody could be hitman for said time after a hit was placed?

might be issue, if a new is placed every 4 minutes, you can never become an hitman..

Correct me if i'm wrong, but there's no actual written rule as far as i'm concerned.
Its just more of a failrp kind of thing that as a staff member should warn for, but still there's no actual written amount of time..
I'm quite curious as to where Gmod troller got the info from?

+Support to doing something, I would suggest either:
Clear, specific rules on job abuse
Timer to changing to hitman after hit is placed
Vote for hitman
or my personal favourite if possible:
Hitman only being able to take out hits that were placed since they got the job.

Redwingz its a unwritten rule. Of course it would be job abuse if you switch jobs just to perform a single act in roleplay example changing from Gangster to master thief just to get the lockpick and lockpick a door then back to gangster when you are finished, instead of buying a lockpick shipment.

Well thats what tigz also said, he said something about 5 minutes, i don't know man but this has to be fixed, this causes problems ...

It goes like this as redpowder told.me a while back and I mean around 2 months ago or so. Say you switch to gun dealer to self supply because no gun dealers are on, you must 2ait 10 minutes before changing back l. Red told a lot of people this at the exact same time he told me e.g glacial, rsqchris and steam were there as well and we've went by this ever since. It would be a good idea to add it to the rules.

It goes like this : 2.7 Switching Jobs - You must remain at the same job for at least 10 mins. IE: You can not switch to Hitman to collect a hit and then go back to being a drug dealer.

The job abuse rule is now there so Relax yourself It really isn't that big of a issue anyone that would take 2mins to think about how switching from one job to another would know that it falls under the failrp rule and it just straight outright kills the aspect of role play. We have weekly meetings for a reason if the job rule wasn't there or missing that would of been the time and place to bring that to our attention.
