Or you could just block those images by using adblock.
Maybe some people like to give people money for their work by watching ads instead of being selfish and only thinking about ''I don't want ads.'' but not about the creators or said websites/videos/whatever.
I use Ad Block on Youtube and other sites unless the person I am watching is someone I support but I would not go so far as to say it is selfish. Yes they need to make money but ads are not the only way they do that. Eg. People sponsor them to mention certain games or items in their video and they get X amount per X amount of views. Another example is patron where people get donate to the people they like.
A lot of people do not like sponsored videos since they can be extremty biased or just not fun being all they're doing these for is money. Ads are a better way to support someone than thinking: ''ah they'll just do sponsored videos and it will be fine.'' They take the sponsored videos because they need to, because people exist that keep using adblock. It's not like most YouTubers like to do these, but it is necessary being of the vast amount of people using AdBlock.
Not everyone does have money to support their favourite YouTubers on Patreon for example. For a lot of people it is easier to just watch ads than to pay 1 dollar per month for example. You also make it sound like everyone that uses AdBlock uses Patreon, which is not the case at all. I think that if AdBlock became something illegal, YouTubers would definitely see their income rise a lot. While there might be some people whitelisting certain YouTubers, the majority won't. I know users don't like to actually admit to this, but AdBlock is the problem here.
Also Aureatron, people install AdBlock to not see any ads, so why would you think a lot of people use the EasyList? All I can see is excuses for using AdBlock, but in the end AdBlock is a bad thing and you definitely don't support them by using it. So please, get out with all the excuses and admit that you are not supporting website/video creators by the use of AdBlock. So yes, it is selfish. ''I don't want to watch a 10 second ad and therefore I am not giving the money the creator of this video/website deserves.''
