[SSRP] Removal of broken commands 9 years 6 months ago #76525

Hello, so I am making this post just to suggest the removal of the following commands:

/sleep <-- This does not work, and usually new players don't know that it doesn't work and submit an F1, which is sometimes a waste of time for mods/admins on the server.

/call <-- Also does not work, and the same reasons stated above, users sometimes submit F1's about this command which can also be a waste of time.

/afk <-- Also does not work.

Removing these commands may benefit the server in the way of less mislead players; I say this because every few minutes it comes up in the chat log; and it would definitely save time for mods/admins who may want to move onto more important reports.

or just add a (chat) alert to it that they dont work to clear things up, in case they still want to do something with the commands in the future

Well, if they were to do something with those commands it would have been done a long time ago, or maybe remove them until they want do do something.

I can see any harm in removing them...? I admit when I first started I attempted all the commands to be very disappointed.

Removal of the messages you get in chat about /afk, /sleep and /call should be changed to
/pm to pm a player, /advert to advertise and /ooc to talk about out of character.

Nope, If you go in the darkrp setting theyre DISABLED not broken or switched

Proof: I had a darkrp and i know how they work :P

EDIT: And theyre disabled not removed / broken / switched as i said

I agree with Aureatron here, I think the messages telling the players about said disabled or removed commands should be replaced with helpful tips about things that can/may enhance the modern ZARP Dark RP player experience.

The exact reason that people will know of these commands, is because of the automatic text popping up, they also need to fix it so that it say "F2 to trade" instead of "F1 to trade". There are a lot of problems in this department, and I am glad that DayZ has brought this up.

I think I read that /sleep was broken, yet we'd have to edit the DarkRP automatic messages. Anyways, how different would it make the server? Not much.
