[SSRP] Remove Orbital Strikes and OP explosives! 9 years 8 months ago #60883

Suggestion Title: Remove Orbital Strikes and OP explosives!

How would it benefit the server: It would make base raiding much fairer. I mean right now, someone with VIP can easily buy a C4 explosive and unweld and unfreeze a whole base in the matter of seconds. A milkor can kill people very easily while the victim cant even fight back. All of these over powered explosive and weapons can be very useful to the raider, but would you like it if your base was gone in the blink of an eye?

Potential Issues/Exploits: Destroy a whole base in less than 5 seconds, makes it very unfair for the people who are basing. Orbital strikes can be used to grief large parts of the map. All the doors go black, looks ugly.

Additional notes: I'm surprised no one has made a suggestion about removing these over-powered weapons. Please take my suggestion into consideration, thanks.

I don't think we'll remove them, as a lot of players invested into this specific type of weaponry.

It's all about being "smart" when you build your base. Bases that have roofs you can make it have another roof a little higher than the first one this way the orb strike it's that first and the rest of the base takes less damage. Bases that are inside and can be c4'ed you can use bigger "blocks" so when they are unfroze you still have a little stability in them. Milkors people usually only use them outside to hit windows and such so what you could do here is put up a extra wall behind the window and then there is a lot less chance of one of the bullets coming in.

All in all when you build a base take a little time and think about all the ways people could get in or what weapons they could use on it.

My opinion on this..
Orbital Strike to be removed? : Yes
C4? : No ( you can make a defense against this)
Milkor? : No ( you can also create Milkor walls for this )
M202? : No ( God dang it you get it, just create a defense for it)


The orbital lags out the server alot and you don't have any chance of defense against it,
