Server Name:SSRP (Semi serious roleplay)

Suggestion Title: Wheather,day/night cycle

How would it benefit the server: I think it woud make more realistic feeling to the server when you are walking and suddently there is raining or that there is accual day/night cycle and that for example at night there woud be more night clubs and there woud be a use of lamps and lights

Potential Issues/Exploits:
Stars will sometimes speed up / slow down rapidly, attempting to fix this issue soon.
Problem: Stars Dont appear or skybox looks like its cut in half
.
Additional notes:I think it woud look cool

Seems like it could be a nice addon it would be cool to mug people at night time and do raids.

Think about the possibilities with a day/night cycle!

At day time, everything will go as it is now.
However, when it turns night time, the vampires and other monsters! thieves and gangsters rule the city!

I really like this idea. Adds more realism and more ways to play the game.

This is a nice idea! Perhaps Mutants could kill only at night? Could be an interesting addition to the RP Servers.

This would be a great addition to the server as raiding at night would give you a sort of benefit of raiding and being able to use Lamps etc would be really cool, maybe you could put a lamp in your inventory. Also Morgan said mutants can only kill at night, that would be good. If there we like lamposts, that'd be just purely amazing.

Isn't this really intensive for the server. I mean if we are getting high amounts of players and lots of props for bases, time cycles and explosions from M202's and Orbital Strikes then surely the server will be crashing constantly. I mean sure it's a great idea but it will probably end up with the server crashing quite a bit. Test it anyway I guess.

thank you alot for feedback but I doubt its gonna lag (well maybe when its raining) but for else I woud say it woud go smoothly and we shoud test

The amount of lag weather mod causes is un real. I get 300+ FPS most of the time, but if you turn on weather mod I drop bellow 30. So unless you can find one that does not lag weather mod wont be happening.

Well there are sliders so you make just the day/night cycle or/and to make storms a rarety because there is a slider for 3 things

Weather lenght
So it can be customized

Ahhh.. much memories, right gregory?

Well the most of you guys aren't familiar with this thing i guess.
This mod can make trouble in an RP Server.
Many of you know that i worked as a scripter and it was the biggest challenge to delete this from the server. (Mostly because we had a bad scripter at the beginning.)

Well heres some points why you definately don't need this:
-Causes Artifical laggs for every tool/weapon you have in your hand what also causes FPS Drops down to 15-30 FPS. Even with high end pc's.

-Arrest stick is buggy and has LUA Errors. (This could be because we had such a bad scripter at the beginning at our community)

-Graphical buggs for some people. (Something about this addon, this can be caused at high end and old pc's somehow)

I think it is not worth the work, because after all it will not make your Gaming Experience much more fun. It simply puts in some RP effects (Raiding at night, Raining so people are in houses most of the time.) And some special effects (Rain drops in your face // Also causes laggs.).

All I'm telling you is as it stands currently weather mod will not be happening. It doest matter how in-between the storms are because as soon as they start the lag is horrendous. Day and Night cycle maybe but weather mod is a complete no.

As I remember from GBG owned by me and TheAp4ch3 we had weather addon (If remember correctly called Atoms). What was this? Exacly bullshit. Whole weather broke server and made addons not compatibile. When we removed files from weather IT WAS STILL HERE CAUSING EVEN MORE PROBLEMS!

- Graphic bugs
- Addons incompatibility
- Server lag (ping)
- Totally breaking Arrest/Unarrest stick.

I'd be fine with only the day/night cycle, as that in itself adds lots of possibilities.

I'm trying to think of what would change if we had a weather mod (except lots of server crashes), but it's kinda hard to come up with something that really adds to the gameplay.

I would love if we had the day + night cycle, but not the weather seeing as all the bugs it causes.
Having 60-90 people on allready makes horrible lag, now throw in another thing (The weather) and it will go from 30 fps due to 60-90 people online to >20 fps. If someone were to fix it so the weather woulen't be there/not coded in, that'd be great.
Staying Neutral on this until the weather part of it is removed.
