Zarp is a very cyclical community with updates and new servers bringing 40 players to a respective server and then the player count dropping to 5 alts in between.
How many times has a server been suggested such as jailbreak, zombie survival, murder etc just to be shot down or, even worse, accepted and then the server is dead within a couple months. A rotation of these servers, perhaps voted on by the community on which will be the next one, where the server is only up for a month at a time before being replaced would be enough to keep players interested and possibly bring new players into the community for other game modes. Since zarp has had these servers already the coding is there and there would be no need for a big update or balancing as the server will be replaced by another before anyone gets bored of the game mode. A single staff team would also suffice, meaning the server would possibly be lower maintance then others. I have no interest in owning such a server but the new cm candidates should consider this or even the actual cm team. |

That would be an absolute waste of time

If I put myself in a cm's shoes, that would be pointless
Previous servers proved that nobody had a large interest in them, if there's some kind of rotation the same phenomenon will occur |

Would the Server Owner develop for each gamemode? Surely the amount of effort put into developing would be pointless if the server is rotated out, code would get outdated by the time rotation came back. Would the staff stay the same? This really isn't something that would work.

I don't actually know why people are negative to this idea!
I think its a fantastic idea. Have a bi-weekly rotating pointshop mode. The pointshop servers (dr, murder, jailbreak etc) are popular for a little bit then die off. If it came and went then during the time people would join. We have short ass attention spans and like stuff to be refreshing so I for one would most definitively be supportive of a rotating gamemode! |

This really isn't something that would work. I'd imagine that the code from old zarp servers could be reused and they wouldn't be up long enough to require massive updates. The staff team could probably stay the same for all rotations as pointshop is pointshop so most of the rules and the staffing is the same anyways. An argument can be made that staff would need to relearn everything for each rotation but we "require" all players to read the rules before playing anyways so it's no big deal. I do see the idea with this and honestly I'd probably play it myself now and again, but I just don't ever see this being added plus I'm sure there would be some technical difficulties with such a system.
