Disallow @everyone pings/add a role specifically for people who want to be pinged for events.
How would it benefit the server:
Not anger half the community

I understand you are trying to get more active players and I respect that but people who want to join in on these events are already in the know as to when they happen, before anyone says "Disable pings" I have done that and it's a solution for me but when you have to delete 50% of the messages and enable 5 minute slowmode after you ping everyone because more people are angry at being pinged than keen to join then something is wrong.
You could either disable @everyones and just announce that the game is going to start, or you could just keep the announcements to the forums. Or you could create a role for users to opt into being pinged for events.
Probably around 50% of the active playerbase only play poinshop, there is no need to be pinging all these people to play another sever they quite frankly don't care about

While your at it change the steam group. Last time a bunch of events happened I would be spammed every 15 mins at least twice with a steam notification telling me a mini games event for a festive box was happening. I had to leave the group, who the fuck cares about a festive box mini games?! We get that every few days via case event day. Not worth pinging AN ENTIRE FUCKING STEAM GROUP. I guess im lucky im banned off discord cause that shit would do my nut in

have a self assignable role for both point shop and ssrp events and let people choose if they wish to be pinged or not is the best way to deal with it as already stated

pinging absolutely everyone on discord is a sure-fire way to piss people off.
