Title: Unlockable Items

How would this benefit the server? Novelty item(s). Decent money sink.

Any exploits or issues? Probably have more troll-like players using this to RDM or cause problems, but I don't see this happening much. Because it costs money and materials, might issue a bit more of a challenge to new players.

Additional Notes:
Honestly, stay with me here.
What if we could unlock items and weapons? Take the below example.

What if fists were a weapon that had to be unlocked?
What if you could upgrade them? You start out with basic fists that have to be unlocked by spending say... 1 mil or something.
You have like 3 to 5 upgrades, taped-up fists, knuckle dusters, gauntlets, spiked knuckles, then the last upgrade could be something ridiculous like a one-inch punch that needs to be charged or something before use, but is a one-hit.

Obviously this is only from like 5 minutes of thought, but unlockable weapons and potentially armour offer so many little money sinks that offer something to everyone - from perfectionists to in-game collectors, to someone who simply wants the novelty of a certain weapon.

Another few examples:
Water gun > Hydrocannon (Pushes players back)
String > Rope (Adds a level of intrigue to the kidnap mechanic)
BB gun > Mega Man's buster (Does chip damage)
Plush > Killer robot (Like a moving turret, though less damage, probably be destroyed by one shot - costs money and materials to spawn)
Stick > Mage's Staff (Like summoner, only it costs money and materials to summon bigger and better things. Think the monsters from Amnesia.)

I don't know if this has been suggested before, but it might be fun. I know we've already got cosmetics, but this adds things that serve more of a unique purpose - things that could be a lot of fun if used right.

EDIT: Actually, thinking about it, you could probably add cosmetic skins and the like to some of these unlockables for an extra price.

Fun Fact #2,789,637: The original Juggernaut Suit could survive a nuke launch - but that's because the nuke wasn't as strong back then.

You could also survive if you climbed in a car or on a chair, was later changed because it was kinda exploiting

I'm not sure I'm reading this correctly; it's a money sink so this isn't really an issue. Unless you're suggesting that other rich players will simply pass their money into other players - which again, still not an issue.
Or perhaps suggesting something else? I'm confused.

I like the idea a lot, but if it CAN be farmed then it WILL be farmed, and in that case you could have tons of people with powerful weapons without really putting in that much effort. I would be more in favour of having more items craft into others, and just having a bigger variety of weapons in general to work with this.

Personally, I think money sinks are always a good thing; but this is also why I'm not just suggesting weapons, that you could always add items into the mix too. Collectibles have become very popular, even those that aren't necessarily collectible - I think even if we added these into the game, giving them a cap on how strong they are and making them more novelty than anything else might be more suitable.

It may also be interesting to find ways to make them accessible through actual challenges and tasks, like the quests from a few years ago, revamped into new and exciting things.
