How do you anticipate weapons with holster times to be force unequiped? If they still have a holster time they could quickly raid with that weapon if it instantly holsters it would be exploited to instantly holster gluons either one isn’t favourable

So, just to give a slightly better answer to the "force unequip" concerns in regards to people simply entering the area to instantly unequip gluons and the like, there are ways to solve this concern.

I'd recommend a "toll gate". Players press use on the gate to enter the area. If the gate detects any of the forbidden special weapons on that person, that person will not be able to enter. This gate will have a forcefield that essentially blocks any special weapons from being fired into the area. Can even just be an unbreakable, big freaking prop.

This will also apply to weapons that cannot be holstered once equipped. e.g. EMP grenades. You could also have it so that the player can be instantly granted entry given they are willing to sacrifice the weapon they're carrying.

_

Example:

Player A is coming back from a raid on Player B's base. Player A has low health, used a handcannon during the raid, and there's 30 seconds on the holster timer. Player A would rather enter Hollow Field than be killed by the pursuing Player B. Player A agrees to have his weapon destroyed in exchange for instant access to Hollow Field.
The handcannon is destroyed, and Player A is able to get into Player C's base in Hollow Field before being killed by Player B.

If we'd like to soften the blow, we could always make it so that the weapon is simply converted to its respective gem valuation upon entry.

Furthermore, what would people think of Hollow Field having its own Health and Armor NPC?

Also, just to address another matter, one that hasn't yet been asked. Yes, I think people with hits on their head should be allowed into Hollow Field, as they'll be just as vulnerable - if not more so due to their own lack of special suits/weapons. Provides a greater incentive for the attack and respond type of raiding if the hit is hiding in a base with friends.

Been thinking and surely the current map is too small for this? Why would anyone choose to base outside of the Hollow Field area and risk getting raped by suits. If the Hollow Field moves from district to district, the current map only has like what, an average of like 3 places per district to base. Say 3 people take up these spots what about everyone else that would want to base inside it? You could also have the issue of this not even being used for new players and all the more experienced users hogging the Hollow FIeld. Just my thoughts anyway I could be wrong.

I think what I'd like to see is an addition to the map, one specific place that the Hollow Field is in, could make up the size of the largest district, and have various houses/spots for people to base in.

Honestly, I think some experienced players would still stick to basing using their overpowered weaponry and the like. It arguably is easier to defend using tripmines, turrets, and a shit tonne of gluons and dark matters, tacs and mummies than basing using nothing but the bare essentials that made up early 2015.

You're still right, though. If this was successful, there'd likely be a great deal of players swarming to that one area to base, with little room for new players. I think maybe make it a small city like area. Small skyscrapers, compounds with basement areas, etc. There might be a small issue of elevator basing, but... Well, that's down to what the devs decide to do if this is accepted.

Also, how amusing would it be if the way to access the Hollow Field was a time machine located in the basement of the GenCorp building once it's finished?

I think what you would do then is what you would do in the past, pm asking to base meet someone and base together

Okay, hear me out on this one.

On deathrun servers they have a mode called ghost mode where when you die all the alive people can't see you and you can still play. Imagine something like this but people who enable classic mode are invisible and cannot interact with afk shop simulator mode. Im not sure on how possible this is or how optimizable but I imagine with some jiggery pokery it could happen.

Either that or just have "S3" just be "Classic".

I do like the idea of the Hollow Fields being separate within the actual server. I think this would solve some issues to do with allowing/disallowing special weapons, suits etc.
And I do think Watson is onto something about a teleporter in the GenCorp building - something similar to the casino just with no way in other than the teleporter.
What I think could be cool is perhaps an entry fee? Some cash or items?This could potentially keep people playing normally with suits etc. But then find sanctuary in the Hollow Fields. Obviously for new players this is not ideal but even in todays server its not impossible to base and grind.

Quite a lovely suggestion sounds like a lot of fun too!~ Adds a bit of the challenge back to "ye olden day" raiding. I can think of quite a few ways of exploits being able to pop up so whoever goes to attempt to make this a reality (provided it is accepted) should do some proper testing to avoid things from accidentally being able to be equipped. Otherwise, love the suggestion Watson!
