Truly not alot, deathrun gets boring sometimes, and there is really now way of fixing that unless you want to rework the whole gamemode.
Theres no doubt that the deathrun community has been alot better, but using the new crafting system, pointshop etc. as an excuse to the server being "dead" is dum, because the server was dead before that aswell. i do not think deathrun can be what it used to be, but it can most certainly improve.
