Seen this from yogscast but it can be named different and abilities can be changed! want to hear thoughts about this one!.

I saw the title of the post and thought this sounds dumb but some of those roles don't look to bad, good way to freshen up a bored gamemode due to a 24/7 map

Personally think the Glitch, Swapper and Assassin would work pretty well, but not sure if the others would fit as well, as they're made more for servers with only a few friends (like how the Yogs play)!

I like assasin, but especially with lots of people they maybe would need to have multiple targets to make it feasible. Glitch is a good idea and would bring a lot to the gamemode, but it could also cause confusion.

Phantom is big nono as they would come back knowing who all the ts are, and jester would win every round roughly 2 seconds in.

As Xnator said, I think some of the roles would work well on the server. Played with the addon a little this week and the custom roles are quite fun!
Would be fun to have added.

i watch a lot of yogscast( only ttt) and like the new roles they have but...

1. jester: would add too much confusion to new players, t baiting would have to be taken diffrently and it would be ass to handle for staff.

2. swapper: would ne better as jester but will still change t baiting and add rdm.

3. assassin: great idea but it shouldnt count as a t role, because some people would be dissapointed if they couldnt use t weapons, it should be a role that
you get rarely and like not even 1 per round.

4. glitch: the best of the bunch, really have no complains.

5. phantom: it would cause a lot of rdm chains because of the smoke and people as phantoms might rdm if they knew they will come back to life.

6. hypnotist: the same waste as the assassin, where you cant use the t weapons, but would be nice to become a t after you die as an inno.

i think the glitch and the hypnotist should be added or even the assassin, but the other three would make staffing a lot harder.

How does that not work?
It literally makes the main area control of the tester completely useless, as I don’t think anyone would use it simply because either someone can just stand and wait for the counter to expire, killing them and getting the traitor’s role, or suiciding on the c4. Even the traps, why would they use the traps when the odds are that and experienced player could be standing right where the minecart exits just to get traitor. It makes a lot of other t weapons useless due to the risk of losing your role

The impact these roles would have on TTT scares me. It would take people a while to adjust to the change, not to mention new players needing to learn the roles and how to play them/play around them. Out of the above, I see the Hypnotist, Glitch and maybe assassin being the only ones "safe" to add.

Other than that it would make TTT a more refreshing experience which I'm all for.

The only way I see this implemented is through a "Special Roles Round" that occurs every few rounds. I wouldn't want them to be used every round otherwise the server would become complete chaos.

you could always trial it on server two first to see what the staff think and go from there

I like that idea, make it like a wild card round that has a chance of spawning

Just to note the Swapper cannot take explosion / fire damage

Also, to clarify about the addon that adds these roles, the special roles don't (by default) apply every round, and are quite rare that anyone is actually selected for any of the roles at all.

Some of these are pretty promising, Glitch in particular is my favorite. However, as Jim Jam said, this is a pretty major change and could potentially bring more bad than good. Special rounds is a great concept, though.

This is not a ttt suggestion this is a new server suggestion . Apply that to a new server and thats a good idea but add that to ttt , then u changed ttt
