TOPIC: [TTT] Decoy puts Fake DNA on an Innocent

[TTT] Decoy puts Fake DNA on an Innocent 4 years 3 weeks ago #1204571

Server Name:

Trouble in Terrorist Town

Suggestion Title:

Decoy allows traitors to put Fake DNA one time on an innocent.

How would it benefit the server:

It would add to the deception of traitors and allow the decoy to be used differently which would really help when the server is full of players. It can be balanced by making it one time only.

Potential Issues/Exploits:

Probably would make the decoy overpowered (changes welcome).

Additional notes:

Quite a bit stupid but it does make the decoy more worth it to traitors by making an innocent have their DNA.

Sounds fun, I doubt 1 get-out-of-jail-free card will do much to make the item "overpowered". Would be pretty cool making the detective/innocents kill other innocents (or traitors, if you're a teamkilling baddie )

I can only see this causing confusion for innocents as they report someone and get the response "I had your DNA", despite the fact that they never killed anyone, especially since 99% of players don't ask why you killed the person they got DNA from

That is sorta the point of the change but I do see what you mean. People could just use it as an excuse but DNA logs can simply fix SOME of the problems. If they say they have DNA, a staff member can just check the logs to see if it is true or not.

I like the idea but i don't think it would work.
For the people who do read the rules, it would make playing detective pretty much pointless as you wouldn't know which dna sample is correct and which sample is a decoy and playing detective is already a hassle as you are a big target for the traitors and having the dna scanner is the only thing that really makes it worth playing imo.

For newer players who don't read the rules, they would just blindly rdm anyone who they have dna on and it would be hassle for the staff.
In a ideal world everyone would read the rules but realistically most people aren't going to.
But more t weapons would be cool.

That's the general point. Deception and Confusion to the innocents to make it harder for traitors to be found out. I did say it may be overpowered but thanks for reminding me about the people who wouldn't read the rules or are simply new. It would be way overwhelming for them and a big hassle for staff and players.

As for new t weapons, I have no idea what could be suggested.

I mean it sounds like a good idea for a new t buy but as mentioned it would be quite problematic for reports etc. I think what could work is a dna icon that pings up in different locations making it seem like the target is moving but it not actually being a real player

That could be a suitable replacement for the idea I had. It would work well and I don't see many flaws with it.

If you play on the server, you should already have read the rules despite being new to the game...

It would be getting DNA logs but it could be worded with

"DETECTIVE received FAKE DNA on INNOCENT" or any other way you can think of.
