or they could work on previously accepted suggestions of low level suits / craftable suits. The thing that was accepted many many months ago.
Im not sure if your trying to call someone out? but alot of these things are ordered with what we think should go first. Im sorry but content over these types of updates any day. We currently only have one coder for SSRP and thats chute. He can't spend all his time on "free suits" when he is coding bigger things.
Enlighten me as to where I said "free". These suits and other content focused towards new and low level players would be huge for the playerbase, and we all agreed on that. I think bringing in newer players and keeping them, bringing the server back up the rankings would be appreciated much more than coindrops, casinos and airdrops. Not even this, zarp classic, the thing that keeps getting delayed and delayed because its viewed as not as important as other content, sorry but the majority of the community would prefer zarp classic over a TF2 server or a sandbox server, any day.
Zarp clasic was never an accepted suggestion. Yes there was big talk about it but there was never a solid "yes" for the suggestion. Also, yes we are all for the new players but even with a "weak suit" they wont stand a chance vs a gloun. We have a huge focus on suggestions and ideas we have thought of for new players but we also have to think how it would effect other players during the progress. We thank you for your large concern for the suggestion that was accepted and hasn't been added yet. This is why we don't give solid "release dates". As of the "gangster suit" I will bring this up on Friday!
What??? I'm pretty certain that it had been said by numerous high ranked staff within the community that there would be a classic server and that it was "in development". Also I completely agree with Markus about the TF2 server and sandbox server, neither of which were even talked about at all within the community before being sprung on to everyone at such short notice. The idea of a TF2 server and a sandbox server just blows my mind, sandbox is a gamemode that definitely won't bring consistent players because it's not unique whatsoever, and TF2 is on a downward trend in terms of player count and will end up just like the CSGO 1v1 server did.
The idea of cheaper and easier to obtain suits is definitely a step in the right direction for new players. This will actually give them a reason to keep playing the server instead of joining, basing for a few minutes only to get their drugs and printers destroyed either by a nuke, or some player with 15b and every suit in the game. It's unimaginable how frustrating getting started on zarp would be nowadays without buying loads of booster packs. I'm just so glad I started out so long ago when there weren't any of these major underlying problems.
Just wanna clear this up - we never officially began development for any classic, legacy, fresh SSRP servers. We put in a lot of effort into getting the community's opinion on what we know as "ZARP Classic", but after it came about that we weren't going to be wiping the database, significantly less people wanted it.
As a result of the backlash, we parked "ZARP Classic" as a concept and instead focused on working with the servers we currently have in our farm and improving them. Don't get me wrong - a classic/legacy server idea is not completely scrapped, we just did not have the time & resources to allocate at the time.
Since the turnover of the New Year, hopefully that will change. Anyone who has said the CM team is actively working on ZARP Classic is wrong.
Hope this helps!
As for the suggestion itself: I'm not entirely against the idea of adding craft-able suits for non-police jobs to use, but I wonder if there's other routes we can explore instead of relying solely on suits.
The thing that gets me is that yes, it was said in the past that it was in development by more than one person, and that there are server ideas that nobody asked for such as TF2 and sandbox, both of which will not hold a steady playerbase for reasons I've listed above. There is little to no community involvement in the decisions that happen within this community anymore and it's really sad. Instead of trying to branch out to different games and gamemodes, try building off of what we already have to attract more players to these servers. The thing that really annoys me is that the suggestions pile up and nobody seems to care about them. There have been accepted suggestions from 6+ months ago that have yet to be implemented or even talked about since then. The thing is, we need these new players to stay more than anything, and easily accessible and cheap items that will give even the slightest of advantages will help tremendously. I always see new players building these cool bases and structures, only for them to get nuked while the player is building them, and bases get raided by bored rich players who have nothing else to do while waiting on the nuke cooldown.
TL;DR - nobody asked for TF2 or sandbox servers, they won't hold a steady playerbase, and SSRP is unforgiving to new players in every way imaginable
